  This weekend Cocoa Village in Brevard County will host the Mardi Gras.   There will be a street party tonight and a parade with floats.  The fun begins at 5:00tonight.  There will be bands , food and lots of drinks.  There will be a beauty pageant for kids.  This year they have tried to make the event more 'children' friendly than in years past.  There will be pet rescue groups, the Humane Society will be there and there will be street vendors, THis year there will be carnival rides. days of amusements. These photos are the Space Shuttle Discovery blasting off today as seen from Cocoa Village in Brevard County Florida.  We had a dilemma trying to decide where to view the space shuttle launch from.  Even though we have been watching launches since the early 1960's, we still get excited watching them today.  The space shuttle can be seen from most places in Brevard County, but today we were in a hurry.
