Islamorada, FL Real Estate News

The sweet gentleman Tanner is back in our house this afternoon. His new owner did not like the fact that he bites. Yes, he bites, but not hard enough to hurt you (unless you pull your skin across his teeth). He mouths you because they declawed him and that is his defense if you go after his belly, which he doesn't like much. He does not put his ears back, and he is not angry. Just putting his mouth on you. So, Tanner is back with us waiting on another forever home. I wish he would stop giving me dirty looks. It is not MY fault they asked me to bring him back!

The sweet gentleman who we had the privilege of fostering has found a forever home.  We were sad to see him go because he was such a superior cat. I hope his new family enjoys him as much as we did. I made sure that Caring for Cats knew that should anything go wrong in his new home, he always can come back to us. We miss you Tanner! We wish you a Puuurfect life.

I am a pretty good cook. I make lamb, but I don't eat lamb. That is not quite true, I have forced myself to have a bite or two at a dinner party. The funniest is when a friend was having us over for my 55th birthday and announced she was making lamb. I would have eaten it. Luckily, other people that were invited spoke up and said THEY wouldn't eat it. Whew, that let me off the hook because the hostess changed the menu for an elderly person. But back to cooking lamb. I have done it in a slow cooker, cooked it on a grill, roasted it in the oven and cooked it in red wine. My family loves it! Me, I just cook it and eat the veggies. Today Hubby is cooking a leg of lamb in the IR cooker for an group function. Every one raves about the flavor, tenderness etc. I bought fresh mint jelly and mint...

89401 Old Hwy, Plantation Key, IslamoradaForeclosures...They come in all shapes and sizes.  As the economic crises that have befelled us take their toll, we find that the crushing blow of financial hardship has griped the full spectrum of home owners.  From the modest two-bedroom home, to palatial waterfront estates like today's deal...and what a deal indeed!!  The interesting part of this equation is that though many are dealing with these hardships....many others are reaping the incredible rewards of capitalizing on outstanding real estate opportunities.Today, I give a tip of the hat to my friend and colleague here at American Caribbean, Joel Young, as he worked with the Buyer in this transaction, and he did an outstanding job in procuring his client and incredible deal. This direct oc...

I admit, I didn't know what to expect. The event was the 2nd annual Fur Ball to be held at Holiday Isle's beach. The dress was Keys dressy casual, which meant anything from shorts to long sundress for ladies and shorts and a shirt (or even long pants) for men. Some ladies put on their long sundresses, I had on a skort and a blouse. There was dancing, but we did not partake. I thought there would only be a few of us. Tickets were $30 with a cash bar. What amazed me was how great the venue was. We had the Holiday Isle Beach with tables and chairs and the pavilion held the silent auction items. I expected a few silent auction items with a $25. gift certificate to this restaurant and a $50 oil change for a boat. NO WAY! The stuff was nothing short of spectacular! There was a football signed...

Made up of a chain of five islands which include Lower Matecumbe Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Plantation Key, Tea Table Key and Windley Key, the Islamorada chain are among the most lovely places to live or vacation within the Keys. As an investor, Islamorada real estate offers the opportunities to own a piece of paradise that can produce revenue on a weekly or monthly basis. As a place to live and/or retire to why not do it in a friendly, quaint and beautiful setting.   This 18 mile stretch of islands connected by Overseas Highway has beautiful bay and ocean front properties available for sale or rent. It’s also a water sports center for diving, fishing, parasailing and lounging on a deck in front the beautiful waters. One of the interesting things about Islamorada is that in and around ...

Located just south of Key Largo, is the island chain of Islamorada. Islamorada is 18 miles long and less than one mile wide. It is made up of four main islands: Plantation Key, Windley Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, and Lower Matecumbe Key, each with their own unique character. Legend claims that "Islamorada"  which means "Purple Isle," was the name given to the area by Spanish explorers who noticed a purple hue to the coastline. Even though Islamorada has changed since the days of pineapple plantations and turtle farming, it is still a quaint fishing village in many ways. Real Estate in Islamorada is dynamically varied, and is some of the most prized, and sought after in all the Keys, with most of the properties situated on the water.  World Class fishing, diving, boating, and an abundance ...

Tanner is a sweet neutered Male cat that has been declawed in his front paws. We are fostering him for about 6 more weeks. We hope to find him a forever home by then. He is very sweet and loving, likes to talk a bit and knows how to use a cat door. He is a great indoor cat because of the fact he was declawed. He loves to purr and like both men and women. He like everyone and is not shy. He is not a fraidy cat. He does not flinch at the garbage disposer or doorbell. He loves to sit on a warm lap and will gladly massage your chest. He jumped on the counter once, was reprimanded and has not done it since. He needs a forever home and gets along with other cats. If you have or know someone who does have a forever home for him, please contact me or www.caring4cats.net. Caring for Cats phone n...

ICE, Islamorada Community Entertainment, is once again offering FREE admission to Bay Jam music fest 2011. There will be more than 12 bands, all with ties to the Florida Keys music scene.   The Fest is scheduled for April 10th at the TIB Amphitheater in Founders Park ( I made a Freudian slip and typed "Flounders" park, some people think the Village is in trouble). The event will begin at 11:00 AM and continue to 9:00 PM. The music starts at 12:00. Tasty treats will be on sale by such local icons as Kaiyo Grill, Taster's Grill, Green Turtle, Barbecue Bob's and the Coral Shores Band Boosters. There will also be items on sale from local jewelry and craft vendors.  Come on by!
