Sarah, a juvinale loggerhead turtle was found with a spear in her head off of Big Pine Key by some local fisherman. Loggerheads are protected by law. The Turtle Hospital in Marathon has been taking care of Sarah and hopes to release her back in to the wild in about a month. Right now, the turtle medics are watching carefully for signs of infection. Local Keys residents are vehement about protecting sea life. The Turtle Hospital in Marathon offered a reward of $500, which was quickly matched by the Florida Keys Commercial Fishermen's Association.
