Our Miami real estate photo of the day features Portofino Tower. This beautiful skyscraper located in theSouth of Fifth or SOFI Neighborhood on the southern extremity of the city is the first super high rise for this luxury neighborhood from 1997.  It is currently the 4th tallest skyscraper in Miami Beach but it once was the tallest for almost 4 years. In this photo, you’ll see  Continuum I and Continuum II, South Pointe Tower and Apogee in the background.     Famed Delano Hotel up for sale           Morgans Hotel Group has begun an asset unloading via a multiple-metropolis-strategy: in addition to the Art Deco-style Delano South Beach hotel with a tag of $200 million, they're also looking to offload the Hudson Hotel on Columbus Circle. In an about-face from an earlier plan to sell the entire company, the management has decided to instead opt for a softer approach. . The South Beach hotel has been on the market since 2012. The hotel's sexy, raucous, glamorous and gritty pedigree of disco dancing couldn't make the property move, however. Ian Schrager, of Studio 54 fame opened this redo by Philip Stark in 1995 and it was an instant sensation. I had my 40th birthday celebration/party there poolside with fond memories and way to much champagne!

Today's Miami real estate photo of the day features Downtown Miami.  Downtown Miami is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Miami.  Downtown Miami still has a lot of growth in it in terms of commercial and residential development. These buildings that are shown in the image are Epic condo and hotel (just above the green space) and to the right Met One.  Currently there is even more development in this neighborhood ongoing as I write this post.  This part of Downtown Miami is just above the Brickell neighborhood. Enjoy your own private beach now. It is a funny time of year for us Floridians. The summer vacations are over, kids back in school, football and baseball is on and the tourists not quite ready to head south. That equals empty or near empty beaches. After the early morning walkers disappear you pretty much can stakeout your own private beach. So peaceful and beautiful. That's the way I like it anyway.   Under new ownership, South Beach's iconic Shore Club Hotel is going condo, according to a press release just sent over. The 309 room hotel will soon become a 100 room hotel that also has 85 condo units, with real estate giant Douglas Elliman launching sales during Art Basel week. The Shore Club is located directly on the ocean and is walking distance to all of South Beach's great restaurants, shopping and clubs.   Breaking NEWS! This just in......   From left: the proposed Ritz-Carlton Residences in Miami Beach and Ophir Sternberg and George Mato A penthouse in the upcoming Ritz-Carlton Residences in Miami Beach was sold to a “bachelor from Europe” for a whopping $32 million, according to Lionheart Capital director of sales George Mato. Mato described the buyer as a 45-year-old single man from Western Europe, but declined to divulge any more details. Pricing at the condo conversion ranges from $2 million for a two-bedroom to $40 million for a 10,000-square-foot duplex skyhouse. Most of the potential buyers are local homeowners who no longer want to pay to maintain a big house with a staff. I woke up this morning and it was so bright outside I had to grab my camera. Ok the quality isn't great but you get the idea. Those moonlit backyard events are so mezmerizing to me.
