A major museum dedicated to Latin American art will open in the city in 2016. Newly released renderings of the design by FR-EE/Fernando Romero Enterprise look very exciting: the four-story, 90,000-square foot museum will have asymmetrical, cantilevering terraces, a sculpture garden, and a giant public plaza. The futuristic Latin American Art Museum will contain three floors of galleries with work by emerging and established artists from the region(maybe this will be my big break as a painter), and the top floor will house a restaurant. It's all expected to cost $50M which in Miami means $75M when it's all said and done. Can't wait to see it!

Last week Solitair, a vertiginous new  rental high-rise soon to shoot up in Brickell courtesy of developers, ZOM and AIG Global Real Estate, just broke ground. The ADD Inc.-designed, 50-story tower will include 438 residential rental apartments and over 7,500 square feet of ground-level retail. A recent press release mentions that the building's architecture is inspired by the "Majule palm tree.Solitair's jagged façade accurately resembles the palm's patterned trunk, and will stand out in the Brickell skyline. The interiors, however, which supposedly draw from the same concept, are "urban, cool," and grey. Solitair's opening is planned for late 2017, no word on rental rates yet.

Happy Fathers Day to all the good Dads but especially to the great ones. I am lucky enough to have a great one, a fun one, one that I knew always had my back no matter what and still does. When we were all very young he played baseball for the NY Yankees farm team and I went to every game. Most of them I got to sit in the announcer box and they let me control the score board. He took me to see Godzilla at the Drive-in movie theatre on a hot summer night. He taught me how to bake the best apple pies and how to make the meringue on a lemon pie a half a foot high.He tutored me in my Spanish classes that helped me excel in the language. I would never have been able to live in Miami if this had not occurred. He came to my swim meets, my tennis matches and encouraged me all through flight school...

What’s Stopping You? A couple of weeks ago, we talked about how nothing can stop you from making a great living as a Realtor except you because YOU can make the marketing calls every day.  As long as you make outbound calls every day, you will always have business coming in. So this leads one to the next obvious question, “What is stopping you from making the calls?”  Is it a legitimate excuse?   Most brokers can make 5 or 10 outbound calls in one hour and in most cases, that is more outbound, aggressive calls then most Realtors make in a week.  So why can you not block off one hour to make all your calls?  What stops you from making one hour of calls a day?  If that is all you need to do to succeed, why aren’t you doing it? Well, over the years I have made a couple of observations.  F...

Out showing property in the western burbs and had to snap this angry sky.Normally my photos are selling the sun and fun aspect to our wonderful tropical corner of Florida. Rainy season started June 1st and like clockwork the afternoon storms are developing over the Everglades before moving over developed areas. If I am lucky some much needed rain will make it to the coast and water my grass and trees!

900 Biscayne Bay Miami condos for sale is a soaring residential tower near downtown Miami, in one of the most popular new places to live. The 60-story tower, completed in 2008, has great views of the city and Biscayne Bay, where you can watch the cruise ships float in and out of the Port of Miami. It’s location is a huge draw for the residents of its more than 500 units, as it’s situated right between the Adrienne Arsht Center and American Airlines Arena in one of the most vibrant parts of the city.  The condos are all outfitted with the best in sustainability and style. The air conditioning and the glass doors and windows are all rated for energy efficiency. Big whirlpool tubs are the centerpiece of each bathroom, and walk-in closets make storage easy. The terraces offer great views of...

This will be a very striking new addition to the area and I for one am really looking forward to it! Stay tuned......

Miami's Urban Development Review Board just met to vote on updated designs for the Chetrit Group and JDS Development Group's massive Miami River development, which is still going by the generic working title 'Miami Riverwalk' at the moment. Below are some of the new renderings which look pretty amazing to me!  Local starquitect Kobi Karp has done the designs for this huge project along with interiors  done by Roman & Williams, known for their fantastical interiors. Raymond Jungles will be taking control of the landscaping and he is good, better than good in my opinion plus is office is on the current site so he knows it well. If everything is approved as proposed, the 4-million square foot project will have four sixty-story towers, including 1,678 residential units, 330 hotel rooms, 17...

A new 559 spot parking garage in early April of 2015, which is only one of the many new additions to this ever popular Miami destination. The multi-story garage has two show-stopping facades painted on the exterior, allowing patrons of the district to park inside, and those passing by to admire exquisite art.  It is the City View Garage, and is only one of the many new constructions being developed in the area. Hello fellow Moon watchers. Not sure why this shot came out so small but it was a sight to be seen tonight. As the full moon rose from the Atlantic and crept above Miami Beach the light illuminate Biscayne Bay. This one will go down as the Easter full moon of 2015, just glorious!

When the Tababulia's burst into bloom, Spring has officially arrived in Miami. I came home from cold and gloomy Ireland on Sunday to see this beauty in my yard all a blaze. Next up are the Jacarandas (purple flowered trees) and then Summer will be hearld in by the Royal Poincianas which are huge trees covered in flaming red/orange flowers-can't wait!

Another reason to drive a hybrid in South Florida.  As a realtor it is, in my opinion, more important to drive a car that is more sensable than flashy.  However, in South Florida most would think the opposite.  And I get it.  You want to live the image.  If that is who you are then so be it.  But for me, saving gas, leaving a smaller footprint on the environment, and now driving toll lanes for free is reason enough.  Just call me the green realtor.  I'm all about saving the earth.  But driving free through toll lanes in Miami-Dade county really helps too.  Recently the Dept. of Transportation decided to take away two lanes from I-95 in Miami-Dade County and designate them for fast toll lanes supposedly to help move traffic.  It really has just caused more havoc than anything because the...
