What Does New Really Mean? Is is important to be accurate about the ages of appliances, air conditioning, newer roofs? Yes, the buyers want to be told the truth. If it’s older than they like, they may still buy the home knowing they will have to spend money on replacing things like refrigerators and ranges. It’s good to know that ahead of time and be able to budget for it.  At a listing appointment a few weeks ago  the owner told me the air conditioner was “new”. As I always do, I asked when was it replaced? If you invite a hummingbird to lunch, you will get to enjoy looking at these marvelous little flying jewels. My Hummingbird feeder is fixed to one of my kitchen windows so I can enjoy every whir of those wings. Of course, we have a screen on the window so please forgive the view. They come regularly and we change their food every few days; it deteriorates fast in the Florida heat. So far we have only had 2 at a time but we will see more especially after the babies start flying over from the woods.   Who can resist these adorable little creatures. Great news for a soldier who has been deployed to Hawai'i and had squatters in his New Port Richey, Florida home. Homeowner US Army Spc. Michael Sharkey, who is stationed in Hawai'i, found out that Julio Ortiz was squatting in his home, along with his girlfriend Fatima Cardoso. Winging It   A lot of you have been following the journey of my baby Sandhill Crane growing up in the woods and ponds of Timber Greens.   I wanted to share with you, the latest triumph for this tiny bundle of fluff (see bottom) that I posted about back at the end of February. There were some tribulations along the way. The day he couldn’t walk (a couple of weeks ago) and I could see his ‘knees’ were all swollen and yellow; I was sick thinking he would die. His parents kept bringing him food and after a few days, he was able to take shakey steps.     This is the latest step in his/her growth.   Flying is a big adventure and those wings have to be tested and exercised. Now he/she is flying for short trips. It’s so much fun to see this youngster having a great time flying.     I’m so proud...

Happy Hawk On A Sunday Morning - We have a large bush out front that we keep in the shape of a Christmas Tree and at Christmas we decorate it. Lots of our bird friends stop by and survey their kingdom from our tree. And last Sunday, this imperialistic Red-Shouldered Hawk was perched up there. I watched him for several minutes and I swear his head swiveled all the way around in a circle, monitoring the area. I enjoy watching the birds and their behaviors.
