 We had our historic first PFLAG Niceville meeting last month. It went better than I imagined. 33 people and one dog attended.  Everyone agreed to not take pics of people there at the meeting to respect those that may not be out or comfortable with their picture being taken. This is the outside of the church in Valparaiso with a rainbow flag. I  have joined the Okaloosa Democrats LGBT caucus in Okaloosa Florida. This is a great group of people that has started up this group we had the first event of this new caucus back on memorial day weekend in Pensacola Beach trying to register voters and let people know we are here. The second event was the Pride Walk where we also tried to get more people registered to vote and support the pride walk that brought hundreds of supporters. It was great to see Tracy the Okaloosa chair of the Okaloosa Exeutive Committee for the Okaloosa Democrats in Niceville Florida during pride month last month. She along with myself and other volunteers were there to try to register people to vote and show their suppport for the Pride walk in Niceville at the Niceville high school hundreds joined the walk this year.Okaloosa Dems have started up a local LGBT caucus for Okaloosa LGBT community and allys.  Last month I had the opportunity to hear from members of the LGBT community in Niceville FL located in Okaloosa county during the 3rd annual Pride Walk. These lovely flowers brightened my day on Saturday.  My husband was working in the yard and rang the doorbell.  I opened it and there he was presenting this gorgeous bouquet. The only thing was – they weren’t from him!  I said, “Oh, Honey, thank you for remembering the 16 year anniversary of our first date!”.  He said, “No, they really aren’t from me. The flower delivery truck just pulled up and dropped these off.” I brought them into the house and opened the card.
