We now have another spa and fitness center open in the Riverside Plaza.  It seems to be a hit with the residents as memberships to the fitness center are rapidly increasing.  I have to say I am happy to see that another company came in and are trying to make this a go.  I went to spa when the other company had it and it was very convenient to get the massages, waxing and such there.  I wish Brian Badger and Christ Teas the best of luck in making this succeed.  Amy Elmore will be the hair stylist and Becky Sosa will be the nail tech.  The Yoga classes happen 3 times a week and are a big success. Go check it out and let's support our local businesses so we can have a better Palmetto to raise our families in. 11/09/2007

A new plan for residential and commercial development has just been proposed for downtown Palmetto.  The full city block of  4th & 5th Streets and 10th & 9th Avenues is stated to be a project to happen over the next 5 years.The project calls 6 phases with a combination of 28 store fronts and 88 one and two bedroom residential affordable housing units that will range in price of $160,000 to $200,000.The residential units will be built on top of the commercial store fronts and will have a Key West/Florida style buildings with tin roofs, courtyards, benches and parking.The plan is said to also include a possible $50,000 credit to any City employees that want to purchase a unit.  So, I think this is a great idea to build these unique types of buildings in Palmetto and give people the option... 08/31/2007

Looking for a great mexican resturant in the Palmetto area?  Then you must try El Molcajetes.  I have eaten there for years and never once got a bad meal.  They recently moved to US Hwy 301 and now have a larger facility that can better handle the crowds of people that flock there on a daily basis to eat their wonderful food.You get alot of food for the money and they are not priced high.  Take the family there sometime and try it out.  They are now on 1330 US Hwy 301 right behind The Hall.  If you love mexican food, you won't be dissapointed. 08/26/2007

Spanish Point in Palmetto Florida is a villa community.  Located near I 75 off of the Parrish exit, Spanish Point is convenient to Bradenton, Sarasota, St Petersburg, Tampa areas.  The homes are laid out very well and some of the views overlook the golf course.
