Saint Augustine, FL Real Estate News

As 2009 comes to a close I have reviewed the stats and can report that sales here in St Augustine have been up for seven months in a row and the inventory has dropped 35%. While we are still seeing a significant portion of sales in short sales at the low end of the price ranges we are selling more in the way of upscale homes.

"Calm a Storm: Pet Owners" This is about all the pet owners that have a Dog or Cat that "freaks"  out during a storm. These are excerpts from an article by Bobbi Feldman. Some how pets even know when a storm is heading our way. Somehow they seem to sense it before we ever hear the lightning or thunder. Some seem to take it in stride while others shake, hide, or panic. Their fear may take them to running around the house and destroying furniture. Living in Florida, you all know our storms come up in seconds. They all seem to have the same reactions with storms. This could be mild or severe depending on the storm. Hints As puppies, when I hear thunder I take the puppies to the window and stroke them to calm them. When the dog or cat is an adult you can try to hold them and calm them with ...

Wheelchair, Horses and Smiles: St. Augustine I had the pleasure of reading a great article about a local volunteer event. It was an article in the World Golf Village Community Journal. The following information is some bit and pieces I put together from the original article. There was no author to give any credit to. Recently, Haven Horse Ranch hosted Brook's Rehabilitation's Adaptive Sports Program. Back in March of 2008 the ranch built special wheelchair ramps to enable patients from Brooks Rehabiltation Center to be hhelped onto horses. This year they hosted 12 participants with 30 volunteers to help the participants eat lunch and ride horses. The volunteers helped transfer them to the horses back and then walked next to the horses to help the riders keep their balance. The riders w...

"What a Fun Weekend - St. Augustine" We started with a great day Thursday with family over for Thanksgiving Dinner.     Anytime you have loved ones over for a peaceful afternoon with great food it is hard to beat. From there Carol, my partner, and I showed property to a couple from out of state. We signed a contract on another couple we had shown property to the past Saturday. We showed a gorgeous Key West style home on the Intracoastal Waterway to a super couple that lives local. That looks promising.       I came in to work floor today and was second up. I got here about an hour early and a customer drove up behind me. He was looking for a home with a Courtyard entry. I took him to a community with ICI Homesthat has a phenomenal home with a Courtyard entry with a gorgeous pool and Sum...

"Things are so Bright We have to Wear Sun Glasses" Things are so bright for next year my partner, Carol, and myself will have to wear sunglasses to protect our eyes. This not because we have had a phenomenal year. In fact. we have struggled like a lot of agents. However, we see the market increasing in volume and activity.   How many agents judge next year on what is happening this quarter or this past year? My partner and I have predominately had our best quarters in the fourth quarter.       Are most of you looking at what has happened in the last few months or are you working to set the stage for the next few months. We have all found that there are months when very little happens but we find out later the work was setting the stage for months to come. I personally think when we real...

"Thank You - Sneak Peek Saturdays Open House: Homes for Sale - Ted Tyndall" Thanks to the local rsidents for a "1st" Sneak Peek Saturday in Palencia. We had the Sneak Peek Saturday from 1pm till 4pm sponsored by Davidson Realty Inc. today and I want to thank everyone that attended or wanted to attend. We feel it was a total success due to the local residents.   We had 4 Models and three specs built  by ICI Homes on the tour. There were 3 agents on site with myself as a "floater". I realize number of customers is relative to the area and what you are use to as an average. For us it was a great day. ICI Homes has a phenomenal reputation and I feel this contributed to the turn out. We had 8 families or couples attend without an agent. We had another five couples with an agent attend. For 1...
