I just saw a bold prediction for the coming year that read “Homeownership rates will fall to their lowest point in nearly two decades”.  What would cause this to happen?  Could it be the rise of interest rates?  Will this affect real estate in St Augustine Fl?As of December 31, 2013, the 30-year fixed rate was 4.55 and the 15-year fixed rate was 3.62; up from 4.27 and 3.37 respectfully on October 23, 2013.  So yes, there is a rise occurring, but we have to remember that we have been at discounted rates for a very long time and if our economy is truly improving then the rise of interest rates is a natural progression of events.  This should be looked at as a good thing and not discourage buyers from buying and sellers from selling.  Our economy needs to become stronger and higher interes... 01/04/2014

If you live in our area, you have probably been to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm at least once. I remember going BEFORE Maximo was there, and it was fun then. Gomek was there ginormous alligator then, just for the record. It's not a big mud pit with a bunch of alligators laying around, it's a full blown ecological park with so much more than alligators.  They have recently added zip lining, and this is just a wonderful day trip to St. Augustine!
