Yes, this was another Easter Sunday spent at the beach! The water is finally back to being warm enough to get into....I am guessing around 70 degrees! It was wonderful, being back in the saltwater again! What made it even more fun was that a whole pod of dolphins were about 50 feet away having the time of their lives. This made it a really special day!!!! While we were not the only ones there, we always manage to find places where very few people show up and I really don't mind sharing my beach spots with the local wildlife!!! BECOME A WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR OR CERTIFIED LIFEGUARD ST. PETE BEACH, FL: St. Pete Beach Aquatics is offering Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Certification classes. The WSI classes will be held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Fridays at the Tampa Bay Turner Swim School. Session I runs from March 12th to April 23rd and Session II runs from April 30th to June 4th. The Lifeguard Certification classes are held at the St. Pete Beach Community Center Pool and take place Monday and Wednesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and on Saturday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. It is just another day in Paradise down here in sunny Floriida! Ron and I were at the beach this weekend and I naturally had to take some photos of the sunshine, beautiful clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the barrier islands along St Petersburg's Tierra Verde.   While the rest of the nation is enduring cold winter months, we were spending the day at the shore where I was taking photos, taking a long walk and reading a book while Ron fished.     03/10/2010

St. Pete Beach, FL:  The Beach Stewardship Committee of St. Pete Beach is looking for volunteers to help with the First Annual Sea Oats planting project taking place on Saturday, June 20th from 9:00am to Noon.  This is a great project for friends, family, neighbors, church groups, community associations, students needing volunteer hours and other community organizations.    Efforts will begin at the southern end of St. Pete Beach and volunteers should meet at the Paradise Grill on Pass-a-Grille Beach.  Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves, hand shovels, sun block, hats, beach shoes, watering cans and or milk jugs, and knee pads.  Parking passes and refreshments will be provided. A Taste of Pinellas is happening this weekend and it looks like it's going to be even bigger and better than last year.  The setting alone (on the waterfront in Downtown St. Pete) is spectacular, but the celebration of great food and music makes it one of the best annual parties in Tampa Bay.   This event is like the Taste of Palm Harbor on steroids.  Admission is free and all of the proceeds go to support All Children's Hospital.  Food and drink can be purchased from the restaurant booths with tickets -- a sheet of 8 tickets sells for $5 and can be purchased at the event.
