The Sarasota Chalk Festival is wrapping up today and as always it was a show stopper.  The theme this year was the Circus, a tribute to Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey whose winter headquarters were in Sarasota.  The depictions of all things Circus including the wonderful life sized replicas of elephants made me want to go attend the real thing.  I remember being thrilled by the three rings of action and animals, the smell of popcorn and cotton candy and sawdust in my shoes.  We waited anxiously each year for the circus to come to town with the rides and acts, strange people and clowns.    Sarasota is a city that never ceases to amaze me with the hundreds of artistic venues, the ever changing art scene and the diverse styles of outdoor art chosen for display in our town.  I like to t... 11/06/2012
