The IRS recently announced that it will resume issuing balance due notices to taxpayers. These notices were paused on May 9 due to COVID-19.Although the IRS continued to issue most agency notices, the balance due notices or the “500 series notices” were suspended temporarily because of a backlog of mail at the IRS due to COVID-19. The mail backlog is now caught up enough to account for the timely mailed payments. We were visiting the Sarasota Florida area recently. We enjoyed a stop at "The Unconditional Surrender" statue which is located on Island Park Drive, along the Sarasota Bayfront.The statue stands 26’ tall and is a landmark in the city.  The statue is a recreation of the famous photograph from the end of the war celebration in Times Square.  It is known as "The Unconditional Surrender".  The sailor dipped an unknown nurse for this famous kiss to celebrate the end of World War II on August 14, 1945.The statue is made of aluminum and able to withstand winds from a Category 3 Hurricane.   While visiting my shoe repair shop yesterday, I was happily surprised at the opening of a fabulous new store next door.  I ended up celebrating Doughnut Day at Five-O Donut Co .
