Treasure Island Short Sales | What will my neighbor think? “I have lived in Treasure Island for over 20 years and I know a lot of people and I am worried what my friends and neighbors might think if my home here in Treasure Island goes up for a Short Sale”  We hear things like that a lot when homeowners call us to inquiry about listing their property as a Short sale. Why I love to live in Treasure Island Florida. The Tampabay area is just wonderful, I live in Treasure Island, used to live in Saint Pete Beach and my office is in Madeira beach just down the street from Redington and Indian Rocks.  It doesn’t matter in which one of these beach communities you live, they are all wonderful. We all get a beautiful sunrise every morning and we have the most spectacular sunsets every night.  The “South Beaches” of Pinellas and that is everything south of the Clearwater bridge to the Skyway bridge consist of little beach towns. Treasure Island | Dinner at the Perl. What a treat.  It is this time of the year again where we have our annual office diner party .We try to go to a different place every year but I have the feeling that this has stopped as of last night. We had a fantastic time at the Perl here in Treasure Island. Do I have to pay the property taxes for my new home in Treasure Island St. Petersburg at closing?No, here in Tampabay Pinellas county property taxes are paid in arears.     You will actually get money back at closing, it is a credit from the seller to the buyer for his unpaid portion of the yearly property taxes.     You will only have to pay something if the seller for whatever strange reason has already paid the taxes till the end of the year ( he gets his bill in November)     Now if he has already "prepaid" the taxes you would owe him for a month or two.
