Treasure Island - Black Simmer nesting area. You learn something new every day.   I took a walk on Treasure Island beach the other day and all the way down at Sunset beach right in front of Lands End I saw a warning sign and a big piece of the beach was roped off.   Nosy as I am and all other beach goes too, we had to check it out. There were a lot of funny looking seagulls NO, wait  “Black Simmers” gathering peacefully in the dunes. Treasure Island, beach art Look what I foud. I was lucky to see these here in Treasure Island right before the tide came in. I love walking on the beach and finding sand sculptures like this. Unfortunately this kind of art only last for a few hours till the incoming tide washes it away. Where do you go for Chicken wings in Treasure Island? I love to go to Sloppy Joe’s on Gulf Blvd and the corner of 106 Ave. Their wings are really good and you are right on the beach. You can sit inside and enjoy the air-condition or you can sit outside and enjoy a nice breeze and watch the beach action.  Best time of the day is around sunset. I really like their menu, is nice and the prices are very reasonable. So, when you are in Treasure Island check out Sloppy Joe's you won't be disappointed. 07/16/2011

I have been in this area for 18 years.   8 of them in St Pete Beach on Bella Vista, 9 in Treasure Island on Paradise Island (still going) and one year in-between in Pink Streets. Tonight was the 4th of July celebration (I love fireworks) this is an event that I do with my girlfriend for 18 years now. Usually we go to St. Pete Beach or Treasure Island (yes, once we have strayed to downtown St. Pete and Gulfport) this year we went to Treasure Island, it was wonderful. I admit, St Pete Beach has the better fireworks but Treasure Island has the better party. It started on Saturday at 4 pm. One local band after the other was playing on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, there was a lot of food and drinks and art and craft displayed right on the beach. Treasure Island Charlie's seafood I was at the Treasure Island Beach fest this weekend, it was really awesome.   Bands like Single Malt Brothers Band, Sarasota Slim, Caribbean Cowboy, The Rocket Man Show starring Rus Anderson as Elton John,  Tropical Disturbance, Rebel Pride Band and other were playing for the 3 day weekend. The beach was crowed and everybody had a great time listening to the music, having a few drink and eating the local food.  I had Charlie's seafood. It is just the best. He is a local guy, truly an original and he simply has the best seafood. I had Grouper fingers (cooked just right) and real Shrimp (not farm raised) it was delicious. I took some amazing pictures tonight. Went to the beach access on 120 Ave in Treasure Island, right at Sunset Vistas. It was about half an hour before sunset and while the weather over the Gulf looked beautiful and the sun was out the clouds were moving in from the east. Treasure Island, beach signs   When you live in Treasure Island or anywhere on the Gulf coast, you are familiar with Stingrays and you do the shuffle automatically.   Not so the tourist. Today I went for a walk on the beach and I saw a father and his two sons in front of a "Stingray" sign.   The father was reading the sign and showing them the pictures and explaining about Stingrays etc. Made me realize that things we take for granted and do not even think about anymore are completely new to other people and the Stingray signs on the beach now actually make sense to me. Treasure Island, do I really want to wait for them to deliver? Noooooooooo, I do not think so. I had fun today.     As some of you know, I am redoing my entrance way and it turned out to be a bigger project than I thought (what else is new?)   I went to the building supply store to order some more rocks and stones but I was not prepared to wait a few days for delivery so I decided to just load them up and bring them home myself.     The salespeople (staring at my high heels) said that would not be a problem and they would help me load the car.     You should have seen the looks on their faces when I pulled up at the loading area. 330 pounds of rocks, potting soil grass plugs, new plants and some other little stuff and I still had enough space for my handbag.    Treasure Island, do I rea... 07/05/2011

Treasure Island yard, look at my rocks and stones Like I mentioned earlier I bought all these at Carroll's Building Material.   I have Costa Rican Jade, Mexican Beach Pebbles, Bronze Sparkle, Kryptonite Rock, Black Luster,  Heritage and Georgia Sunset.    I paid $75.68 for 263 pounds of these beautiful landscaping rocks and stones.   I am so excited about my yard project but with my luck it will rain all week and I just can't wait to get started. Treasure Island after a rain storm I love to live in Treasure Island and see the sun out every day but once in a while it is also nice when it rains and you see them most bizarre cloud formations. Our yards really love the rain.  Right after one of the summer thunderstorms the waters in the Bay and small canals always get very very calm. It looks like someone had polished them. It is a beautiful and very relaxing picture, I just love it. A day after a storm you can see how much greener our landscaping is. Treasure Island, update on my yard project, killing weed. This is probably the best advice I can give you. If you do not wants weeds in your flower bed you HAVE to use the Weed Block. Trust me, I have done flower beds with and without and it makes a huge difference. So do not take a short cut, we are in Treasure Island Florida and weeds grow 24 /7 and it is just no fun to spend hours on your hands and knees pulling weeds. All you need is a few roles of the Weed Block, a pair of scissors and little "crampons" to hold the fabric in place.   It is not that expensive, fast and really easy to do.  Treasure Island, update on my yard project, killing weed. 06/30/2011

Treasure Island, 2 bed room condos under $200,000 I showed some properties in Treasure Island the other day. My clients wanted to see condos or townhomes under $200,000 walking or biking distance to Treasure Island beach and shops, restaurants etc.  The Sun Ketch townhomes were really nice, a 3 to 4 car garage and above that around 900 square feet of living space on one level.  Prices ranged from $145,000 to nearly $200,000. You can have pets and if I am not mistaken they can be up to 75 pounds. Hard to find a place that allows dogs this size.       We also saw the St. James condos on 107th Ave right at the little Treasure Island Bridge. Update on Short Sales, REO, bank owned and foreclosure properties in zip code 33706 Treasure Island St. Pete Beach Right now we have 59 active listings on the market for sale that are either Short Sales or Foreclosures.  47 properties are under contract and supposed to close soon and 89 have sold already this year. This make a total of 195 financially distressed properties and the year is only half way over.
