Wellington Florida Village Council Approved Cameras For Traffic Lights

Wellington Florida Village Council just approved the installation of cameras on our traffic lights to catch photos of those that run red lights at intersections. Royal Palm Beach already has them installed and much of Palm Beach County also. The Village of Wellington code enforcement will be fining those that run red lights. The proposed fines are $125 each time you run a red light for the first two times and then go up to $250 for the third time over a three year period. The cameras will be moved around to where the most infractions are. They are going to contract the installation of the cameras out to companies that specialize in this field.
