Living in Florida it is imperative that we are all prepared for Hurricane Season. How well prepared are you? We took inventory and made a list of what we still needed. It is always better to have a plan and be prepared even if a storm does not come this year. The people who are not prepared lose the most and also seem to whine the most that they do not have water to drink or food to eat. That is why we are told to have our houses in order and stocked with the items that are needed during and after a storm. Then you can just complain about how hot it is!  But not that you are thirsty! We have never had to stand in those water lines because we fill up our water jugs way before a storm comes. II just received a mailing from our bank about being financially prepared in the case of a hurrica...

Well, at least here in Florida it is! When I was asking my awesome Allstate insurance agent and friend, Erica Clark about why these quotes are so high, she responds, " Hey, this is Florida!" Each one of my kids knew the rules in my house and did not like them one little bit and that was you do not get your own car until you are 18! Wow, what a tough mom! Oh well, it was my rule. So now my youngest daughter turned 18 and wanted to buy her own car. I was very impressed that she saved up $1500 all on her own to buy a car. I did not want her to buy one of those all run down cars that you see for sale on the side of the road. We went to the same Chevy dealer that I went to for my son's car. Tirzah even wanted to be on the loan all by herself. Instead of telling her I knew she would not quali...

This mother discovered her son has unusual strength. In fact, he is so strong that when he gets mad he can take out a tree,  he just knocks it down, roots and all!    And here he is checking out the damage!   Not!  Just kidding! Nestor has a great senses of humor and thought you would get a laugh out of this! Actually it is one of our trees in our front yard that was blown down by Hurricane Wilma.  I came across these photos this past weekend as I was cleaning out one of my desk drawers.

Even though it rains every afternoon here in Wellington Florida we can still get up early and head to the beach and catch a few rays of sunshine before the rain comes pouring down.    We enjoyed Saturday at the Beach this weekend. Thought you might like the photos of the beach, come on down to Florida and buy a second home! It takes us about 20 minutes to get to the Boynton Beach State Park Beach in Florida from Wellington Florida.  We like this beach because it is clear of litter, has showers and bathrooms and a concession stand. It also is a life guarded beach. There are beaches closer to us but this one is our beach of choice.

We woke up Wednesday July 4th here in Wellington Florida to cloudy skies. It looks like RAIN! And Rain it did! All day long! Personal Fireworks were banned this year because of the drought we are having here so we didn't buy any fireworks this year. Our 4 year old son was very disappointed that we were not going to light up his favorite little tanks. "But we have the Village fireworks tonight." I told my son. Well, that is if it ever stops raining! It kept on raining. We had to even turn our office computers off because of the thunderstorms and lightning. So Tristan, our 4 year old goes over by our patio door and prays," Please Jesus make it stop raining so I can see the fireworks tonight." At 7:00 p.m. it stopped raining! The faith of a child! So we headed on over to Pierson Park Welli...

You will not find Historic Homes in Wellington Florida.  Wellington Florida's Real Estate is Fresh and Desirable.   Here is an old photo of C.O.Wellington, the founder of Wellington, Florida. Wellington Florida's land started getting developed in the 1960's but most homes here were built from 1979 to the present time with new developments being built.  C. Oliver Wellington bought all the land in what is know today as the Village Of Wellington in 1951.  His vision was to create a planned unit development. Mr. Wellington was from New York but he loved Florida and would come down to Florida as often as he could. The road in Wellington called ‘Flying Cow Road’ is named after Wellington’s initials. It was all farmland back then with farmers living here. This area had the world’s largest Stra...

I was interviewed by our local real estate and legal newspaper, the Daily Business Review, for an article they were writing on the impact of some potential zoning changes might have on the local real estate market. I am sure that my real estate blogging and Localism presence helped me to be selected, thank you Active Rain!.. The original article was going to cover a more broad view of equestrian real estate in South Florida, but a hot topic changed the focus of the story at the last moment. Here is the article for those of you who are interested.Zoning ReportWellington’s equestrian future at stake May 18, 2007 By: John Pacenti Janie Coffey This is the place where Prince Charles played polo. Before any Loan Officers, Mortgage Brokers or Mortgage Bankers get their tail feathers in a an uproar please read the post first. Many perspective clients don't really know how the mortgage process works.  They think you fill out an application and thats about it.  However, what goes on after this takes place really separates the men from the boys.  (sorry ladies I did not mean to leave you out).As many of you  know I run a mortgage company in West Palm Beach and from time to time I have the pleasure of interviewing perspective Loan Officers or Mortgage Brokers.  One of the biggest questions and as it should be is what is the split?  To many Loan Officers/Brokers fall into the "Believe everything you read" category.  They come in expecting a 90% - 100% commission and pay a small fee to t...
