When my son told me he was working at Westgate Las Vegas Resort, he told me it was the hotel where Elvis performed.  So naturally, I googled it.  What else do you do?  And sure enough, it is where Elvis performed except, at that time, it was called the International Hotel.  There is even a life-size statue of Elvis in the lobby.                                        But what caught my eye is that Barry Manilow was performing there.   And I love Barry Manilow!  I grew up listening to his music.  Barry is from New York, and I'm from New York.  He's from Brooklyn;  I'm from Queens.  Same difference.Barry Manilow was big in the summer of '78.  Really big!  He was a superstar!  His music was everywhere. "Can't Smile Without You" played on my answering machine.   Even my father loved it.  He...

Over the past two days, I have been in Florida, specifically between Delray Beach and West Palm Beach, to initiate a Feng Shui analysis. The site has an intriguing history as a family owned and operated hotel (est. in 1925) that is currently functioning as a hostel. During the analysis, we observed which part of the current building's facade would be preserved and integrated into the newly designed hotel. Inventory of the hotel’s 1925 original furnishings was also taken into consideration, which will be incorporated into the new hotel once it is constructed.
