Twenty years ago I lived where traffic was a major consideration in when I made my appointments both professional and personal.  Now, I am either too old or have been back in south Georgia too long to spend any precious time sitting in traffic.  While driving home today, I  took some photos (some out of the sunroof of my Hummer while driving) and wanted to share my commute - words cannot describe...... Each day when leaving my home, I can choose the route I take to my office or to one of the many subdivisions which I am either selling in or preparing for sale.  I elect to take Highway 17 which crosses many rivers and tributaries along the east coast of Georgia. Screams for Dreams is a haunted house that benefits the Marty Lyon's foundation, a foundation that raises monies for children with life threatening and terminal illnesses.  This is the second year that Screams for Dreams has earned monies for the Marty Lyon's foundation.  Kate Howell, a Brunswick High School Student came up with the concept and won the award for outstanding Junior Board Member.  Now a student at Coastal Georgia Community College, Kate still helps teens help others.  Screams for Dreams is located in the Glynn Place Mall Food Court.  The average tour lasts 20 - 30 minutes and are available from Monday October 27 through Thursday October 30 during the hours of 6:30 p.m. until 9:00.  On Halloween, October 31, Screams for Dreams will be open from 6:30 until Midnight.  Last y... 10/25/2008

Emulating Oglethorpe's Squares in Savannah, Georgia, six squares were included in the original city play of Brunswick in 1771.  Hanover Square is one of the six square that were an integral part of social and community events. The history of Hanover Square provided by the non-profit organization Signature Squares of Brunswick offers insight into the historical importance of renovating Hanover Square. A sold-out crowd of business owners and members of the Brunswick and Golden Isles Community as well as state leaders attended the State of the Port Luncheon.  Doug Marchand, Executive Director of Ports Authority allowed that the port of Brunswick had it most productive year ever - bucking national trends for economic growth.  The Georgia Ports Authority was the only port agency in the country to see an increase in cargo handled according to Eric Johnson, President Pro Tempore of the Georgia senate. Even though the temperature may rise to 80 degrees later today, early morning is still cool.  There is a light fog over the marsh and deep water while looking towards the islands across from home (located on the mainland).  My views are beautifully sunny most of the year but change a little as we go into fall.  But what I realize as I look at these views is that today is a new day and only I can decide what I make of this day.  (I do this while remembering Psalms 118:24 "This is the day that the Lord hath made.  We will rejoice and be glad in it".)
