First of all, I am a non typical woman.  For those of you who LOVE to shop... I just don't understand it.  I hate to shop.  I hate to go to the store period.  I usually am in and out for the item(s) I need with no wasted time "looking" at things I'm NOT going to buy. With the recent started construction of widening Highway 441in Putnam County the hair salon I used to go to was eliminated to make way for progress.  I am sure the stylist relocated, but I never got a card, an email or a phone call so I was in search of a new place.  As fate would have it, I'm usually pretty lucky and a new Salon opened up that is between my house and office.  There's only two miles between my house and office by the way. For years my husband and I have attended the wonderful 4th of July fireworks at Crooked Creek Marina.  This year is going to be better than ever. Don't you just hate when you have to call customer service?  I had to call AT&T about my home Internet DSL.  By the time I finally got a human I was really angry.  I tried to laugh it off and not take my anger out on the poor girl who happened to pick up my call.  But when you are sitting there on hold listening to them tell you how much easier it would be for you to "go to www.att.com/support" to figure out your problem than it would be to wait on hold for 20 minutes just to have to tell your problem to one human who said they couldn't help they'd have to transfer to another department and sit on hold for an additional 20 minutes it really irritates you. Decoration Day!  That's what it's supposed to be about.  I won't be visiting the grave of my uncle Johnny Wall (who was killed in Vietnam), BUT I will be visiting the local veterans cemetery.  I don't know who I'll choose this year, but I will be placing flowers on a grave.  I will honoring the service of someone who served our great nation and afforded me the freedom to grill a hamburger on Monday.  I may or may not recognize the name of the person I choose.  I come from a small community. Would you list your Lake Sinclair house with Aunt Betty? or a local agency? I have been on both sides of this street... I got a call late yesterday afternoon from a client that I've been working with for a few weeks.  They were out driving around looking at the "steet appeal" and area of Lake Sinclair on several listings I've emailed them to decide which ones they want to see on Saturday.  They happened upon a sign on a home I'd not sent to them and called me to find out more information about it.  They gave me the company name and agent name and both numbers from the sign. Recently I had a former client who has only owned their lake home for a few weeks call because they wanted to rent a boat.  They had company coming to town and wanted to show them around the lake and go out to dinner by boat.  I gave them the name of three places I know about that do boat rentals. In April of 2010 11 Lake Sinclair properties sold and although that is the exact same number that sold in April of 2009. My office was closed today.  Although, on Friday I did have a client tell me to "Call me on Sunday to come and see the house"  So on my way home from church this morning I did stop at the office and call that client.  I don't think either of us considered that Sunday was Mother's Day when we decided to postpone until today our appointment.  And of course I would have gone had my client wanted me to do it today.  He didn't and we rescheduled. I take "cooking" by spells.  Sometimes I love it and every single day when I get home I make a nice dinner, no matter how late I work or how tired I am.  Other times I'm just NOT in the mood to cook.  That can be pricey.  But last night after a trip to the Eatonton Farmer's Market, my Donald, Abigail and I stopped for a really nice dinner.  Abigail's boyfriend was on duty at the firestation, but we brought him dinner too. We ate at Pronto Slice & Pasta.  I was stuffed when we left and no one at the table left without feeling that way and the bill was less than $45 for 4 people.  The prices are great. Yesterday was the first Eatonton Farmer's Market of the season.  It will run on Thursday afternoons until September. Of course I had to be there on opening day, but worked until after 5 and got there a bit late in the day.  I still picked up some great looking veggies.  I left with green beans, red potatoes, shitaki mushrooms, zucchini, and some fabulous home baked bread.  I went for the onion and garlic stuffed ring while my husband went for the cinnamon raisin bread.  And of course my daughter Abigail, being the good college student she is went along for the free goods and went home with half my veggies, & breadsticks. Sometimes people who email you with questions can prompt ideas for a blog post.  That's what happened today.  I got an email asking about our local high speed internet service providers in the area.  Leads me to tell a quick story... Back in the day... when Georgia only had two area codes for the entire state (which was until the early 90's).  The first two area codes were 404 and 912.  404 covered the northern part of the state and 912 covered the lower part of the state.  With the influx of pagers and cell phones of course we now have lots more... 404, 706, 770, 678, 479, 912 and 229.  BUT, even when Georgia only had two area codes, Putnam County had both.  That's right, instead of put the line round our county the put the cut off at a rail road crossing on Twin Bridges Road.  Part of... 05/06/2010

Spring is my favorite time of year.  I love that fresh bright green of the new leaves on the trees and all the wonderful colors in the blooms.  One of my neighbor's has the most beautiful yard.  It serves as a reminder to me each day as I drive to and from the office to "stop and smell the roses".  Yesterday it rained for the first time in April and that was refreshing to wash away some of the pollen.  It was a nice slow gentle rain that didn't knock all the blooms off the plants. I have attend First Baptist Church of Eatonton, GA all my life.  I've been going to church there since I was a tot in the nursery.  I'm told that I LOVED the swing when I was a baby.  In July, in fact, will be the 44th year I've been attending.  And it's amazing to me that there is always something Fresh and New to be found in our services.
