My word!  Listening to the national news every night makes you think the housing market everywhere has collapsed, house values are way down, and no one can get a mortgage without 50% down payment.  What's the use of thinking about buying a house, or refinancing the one you have?  Let's be specific though.  What is the housing market in Catoosa County Georgia doing?  Is it in the toilet?  Have you lost all your equity because your house value has dropped?  Are mortgages impossible to get?  Well, let's look.  Using public records I have compared the first 6 months of 2008 to the same period in 2007.  I found there were approximately 6% less sales in 2008.  The question is why?  Comparing homes on the market for the same period I found there were a little over 1% less homes for sale this y...
