      As a practicing REALTOR® since 1999, I’ve seen and sold my share of challenged property. Most homes can be sold fairly quickly if the timing and price point is right. Stinky basements, old appliances, old water stains, and over grown yards are the norm. And those are challenges that are easily met with a little elbow grease and time. Good morning! Spring is on the way. Now is the best time to take advantage of the market in a whole new way. Interest rates are the best indicators as to what how much house you can buy. The down payment is important but studies say over the life of a 30 year mortgage, that the interest rate you pay is what will cost or save you the most money. Congratulations to the Whitefield Academy basketball team for winning the state championship on Saturday. University of Georgia-bound Kenneth Gaines led Whitefield Academy to its third Class A boys championship with 24 points as the No. 2-ranked Whitefield Academy Wolfpack beat No. 7 Athens Christian 73-50 in the Class A championship game. Whitefield finished the season with a 22-game winning streak and a 29-3 record overall. Coach Tyrone Johnson steered Whitefield Academy to championships in the 2002-03 and 2008-09 seasons. Time for another Smyrna Vinings town hall meeting. I took my 4-year-old out on New Year’s Eve to see the Christmas holiday lights before they were taken down and put away for another year (although in the Atlanta area, people seem to make an event out of it and leave their lights up way too long; some of them never bother to take them down at all from one holiday season to the next).         Green Street Properties is currently developing Riverview Landing, an 82-acre complex on River View Road in Mableton.
