I don't like to go to the dentist.  Okay, that's a serious understatement.  I HATE going to the dentist.  But in recent years with my parents "good teeth" started to break and loose fillings I have decided that it is necessary even if I hate it. I had some dental trauma as a child and I had a horrible root canal as an adult.  After I got my crown I waited 15 years before going back to a dentist and I really didn't like the dentist I did go to see after that. If you follow my blog you may or may not remember my post July 11, 2013 about my daughter's friend and co-worker Eric John.  At the time I wrote that post his name had not even been made public because his family was on vacation in Florida and had not yet been notified.  I did edit it to add his name and update his condition a couple of days after that.  But that day he was struck by a car while on the side of the road and critically injured.  I asked for your prayers then. Do you remember what has happened in your life since last July?  Well today was the first day Eric was either in a hospital room, in surgery, in ICU, riding in an ambulance or in physical therapy since last July. Two of my favorite events will be happening in March this year.  Historically one of them has been in February, but thankfully they have changed it to March and well... two birds, one stone.... since they are both in Macon, GA.  That's about an hour drive for me, but these events... are worth the drive. First is Friends of the Library used book sale.  I LOVE to read and always pick up some great deals at this sale every year.  I actually have enough book that I could open my own library.  I have a select few authors that I collect in hard back and keep and others I read and pass on to friends and family.  I am always reading a couple of books.  I keep one in my car when when I have to wait for a home inspector to finish or am waiting to meet clients and one at home because I read until ... 02/27/2013

I am terrified of the dentist office.  Even when I am not the patient.  But today I'm thankful for them.  You see on Wednesday my sweet Donald came to the conclusion that this tooth ache of his wasn't going to go away on it's on.  I got him an appointment for an evaluation on Thursday, but his work wouldn't give him time off for the dental appointment.  They did give him time to make a two minute phone call to cancel it.  So our dentist office that is open on Saturdays not only fit in him for the appointment to get his root canal done.  Yup. Crown in place, done.  Finished.  It took about an hour and half.  The endodontist was nice. Sadly Macon lost the music hall of fame this year, but will always be Otis Redding's city.  This weekend  you can celebrate.  Otis Redding was born 70 years ago today.  His music will live on forever.  There are celebrations all weekend long, but today from noon until 10 p.m. you can celebrate with free music and free ice cream at the Third Street Park.
