While checking on local listings the other day, I came across an interesting fact. The local listings in the Towne Lake area of Woodstock Georgia are about HALF what they typically are. Not price, but quantity of homes listed on the market. People have been reluctant to place their homes on the market while the values of their homes have been so depressed. What this means to local buyers is that the effectiveness of lowball pricing strategies are beginning to fade. Prices for those homes on the market should start firming up and, dare I say it, start to rise. All because there are many fewer than usual homes on the market. It's the old supply and demand thing. Saturday, 5 other agents from my office and myself held an Easter Egg hunt in our subdivision. Because of the economy the yearly neighborhood event had been cancelled. Well, with just 2 weeks to plan the event, we jumped in to see if we could make this happen, and we did! It was a great success! We had about 150 kids in age from 3 to 10 show up with their parents for the hunt. We collected everyone together and had 3 seperate age groups hunt about 20 minutes apart. We had chalk for drawing in the parking lot, bubbles, Hula Hoops, and Frisbees. The whole thing was over in about 1 1/2 hours. It was soooo much fun! I just returned from standing out on a street in Woodstock Georgia. I stood with the local Waffle House Patrons, 2 Moms with their kids, and a bunch of my fellow Prudential agents. We stood on the side of the street and spoke to each other about everything and nothing. We were just enjoying the warm sunshine and the friendship. We were standing there watching the traffic drive by, people in cars wondering what we were doing. We could not tell them as the wizzed by us too quickly, but we were on a mission. We were there to honor a fallen soldier. The local Woodstock fire department was there to block of the highway off ramp and the traffic along a busy street. The annual Easter Egg Hunt in Eagle Watch had been canceled this year. There were as many as 300 children in the past that enjoyed this annual event. The local Prudential agents who live in Eagle watch decided that the economy would not sabotage this event this year. The annual Easter Egg Hunt is back on!
