I was compelled to report some updated news with this property that I wrote about recently. As I mentionioned earlier, this property is located in a lovely area right below the mountains. So the area is very scenic and has a tropical feel to it being so green and lush. The lots are larger and the houses are older and therefore it is one of the desirable places in Kailua, because the prices in this neighborhood are generally lower than other areas in Kailua. I attended brokers open and previewed this property. The floors were stripped to bear bones, the kitchen was original, and the house basically needed a complete overhaul. However the potential of this property was there. So if you had a good eye or vision and a few helping hands to transform the property into your dream home, this wa...

The Olomana community in Kailua is located right off the Pali Highway butted up to the mountain. This area is greener with a country like feel. Kailua beach is only about a 5 minute car ride away. The lots are usually 7500 square feet or higher, and considering that Kailua's median price range is in the upper 700,000's, the Olomana area offers properties that can be purchased for less than Kailua's median price range. Most homes are single wall construction, older, but very liveable. It has its own schools, and parks for children to play in as well. A great little community in Kailua! This "diamond in the rough" Kailua Olomana home will be scooped up in no time. It is listed by Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties for $599,000. The last two sales sold for $692k and 715k and those lots and...

Kailua's Olomana Community is located right off the Pali highway running into Kailua town. So its location is convenient if you work in Honolulu. Olomana sits right below the Koolau Mountains which most homes in that area are exposed to that fabulous view. Most homes in Olomana have larger lots in the 7000-8000 square foot lots, with interiors averaging from 1400-2400 square feet interiors. They are older homes that were built in the 1960's with single wall construction. The current average median price range of these homes are $664,500. I visited a property last Thursday, and thought it would be nice to share. It is listed by Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties. It is a short sale which hasn't been dominent on the Windward side of Oahu, however has a small piece of the market share with...

Data current as of September 2007The Olomana neighborhood in Kailua is relatively small and houses do not come available here too often. A nice family neighborhood, it is relatively affordable, and includes convenient access to the Pali Highway and proximity to Castle Medical Center. Some of the homes here have great views of the Koolau Mountain Range and the neighborhood, itself, is named after Mount Olomana, the unique three peaked mountain in near proximity and view. Lot size in this area is generally between 7,500 to 8,500 square feet, with a few larger exceptions. Most homes range from 1,000 to 2,500 sq ft, and are of slab construction, built in the early 1960's. Homes are priced, usually, between $725K and $825K and tend to go quickly. The neighborhood is bordered by the Kalaniana...
