Tanner Historic District (Aurora, IL)
The Tanner Historic District is one of the largest historic districts on Aurora's west side. Created as a locally designated historic district in 1998, it is located just west of Lake Street and includes homes dating from the mid-1800's into the 20th Century. This district is always expanding, adding areas gradually - the last being parts of Oak Street in October of 2006. The Aurora Tanner Historic District includes a variety of home styles, from Victorian to Bungalow, Italiante to Queen Anne. The boundaries and streets of this historic district are marked with informational signs located on the street corners.
