Barrington IL real estate has been popping during the month of May 2013, and to prove that it's time for a market update. This month I wanted to see which were the most active price bands. With 57 sales of both single family homes and condos or townhomes it's enough to see what's popular. 50 of the sales were single family homes, only 7 were condos or townhomes. As you can see from the chart which has price bands on the left and closings along the bottom, there were two ranges that dominated. I am not surprised to see $600,000 to $699,999 as one of those, it represents the median price of single family homes in the Barrington area. South Barrington homes are a magnet for luxury home buyers. The location is good, close to I-90 and Route 59. There are more luxury homes here and the typical cost of properties is higher than any other Barrington area. However I see a disconnect and I am not sure what can be done about it. We are talking about what a buyer wants and what's available in terms of age of house. I can tell by the increase in visitors to my Lake Barrington Shores Living web site that sales are on the increase. The question on the mind of future sellers is "Are we still in a Buyers Market?". To give you an honest opinion let's take a look at sales this year, 2013, and compare them to this time in 2012. Barrington Illinois Real Estate - Market Report March 2013 I finally managed to get to you this first video market report for Barrington Illinois. I have an IPad and created a Keynote presentation but when converting that to video it kept losing some of the data. So back to the PC I went and Power Point converted to Video much easier.
