We hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season. It has become quite cold and frigid out these last few days. We have had a few mini snow storms and some ice storms too.The Bloomingdale real estate market has been staying strong all year long. This is typically a slower time of year with the holidays. Not as much activity last week with Bloomingdale homes as in weeks past. It is still a really good time to buy a home. Most people are under the impression that the real estate market is "dead" during the holidays. As you will see by the market staistics for last week, there is still activity going on despite the typical hustle and bustle of the holidays. This weekend we actually started negotiating 3 contracts. The Bloomindale real estate market and Bloomingdale homes for sale have had 4 properties go under contract last week. Bloomingdale, Illinois History When I first arrived in Bloomingdale, Illinois (north central Dupage County) population was around 6,000. When you drove out past Indian Lakes Resort hotel ( now a Hilton Hotel) on Schick Rd. ( Mrs. Schick- her maiden name- lives about 3 miles down the road) you had to drive across a creek running across the road. Spring was an adventure.The intersection of Army Trail Rd. (named after the army path on the way to fight the Indian wars from Chicago) and Bloomingdale road was mostly vacant land (now the 6th most busiest intersection in Dupage County). The holiday shopping has officially started! The hustle and bustle of the holidays are here. We hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. Instead of focusing on all the doom and gloom that the media is trying to spread about the real estate market, we need to focus on the things we should be thankful for.The Bloomingdale real estate market is not what it has been in the past years, however it is not as bad as the coastal markets. Actually, this week Bloomingdale real estate was quite active. We believe people are starting to realize that this is the market to buy in.This is a really good time to buy a home.
