Under the auspices of the Buffalo Grove Park District. Big Deal Productions, is presenting its Children's Theatre performance of Honk Jr. during the month of November.   Honk Jr. is a re-working of the Hans Anderson classic The Ugly Duckling! As a very biased aunt( of one of the actresses who played a lead role), the show was simply awesome!   If you want my unbiased take, it was a brilliant cast who took to the stage like ducks to water, egged on by a cracking musical score!    Annie, you know that I am always so proud of you in everything that you accomplish...   Buffalo Grove Real Estate Analysis- October 2009 Everywhere I go these days, people are asking me the same question, how is the real estate market doing  in the Buffalo Grove area?  The below analysis from Coldwell Banker indicates that sales in October are up , (good news)Buffalo Grove home inventory is down( that's also really good news) but Buffalo Grove prices are down!  ( that's not  good news!)   The median sales price in October was $225.000- down approx 20% from October of last year.  Why has the median price decreased by almost 20%.  One reason is that there are more short sales and Bank Owned Property than there have ever been.   Whether you are in the market to buy a home or to sell your current home in Buffalo Grove, it is important to keep abreast of the Buffalo Grove mar...

By now most of you know that the extension of the(click) tax credit was signed by the President last week. I have posted information several times on the bill however the tax credit will only apply to purchses prior to April 30, 2010 and it is my belief that it will not be extended after that. My reasoning is this, we are going through the holiday season and winter months. That is usually the slowest time of the year, and since our ecomony is not great the goverment is trying to keep real estate sales going.

A Senate committee reached a compromise yesterday to extend the $8,000 tax credit for first-time home buyers, a boost the housing industry expects will help it pull out of its two-year-old downturn. Lawmakers in Washington also added a $6,500 tax credit for other primary-home purchasers and raised the qualifying income limits to $125,000 for single taxpayers and $225,000 for joint taxpayers, housing-industry sources said. Under the Senate panel compromise, buyers must have sales agreements in hand by April 30, but they will have until June 30 to go to settlement, the sources said. The measure still faces votes in the full Senate and the House.

I love Didier Farms…  Every time I pass by Didier Farms I have many fond memories of when my children were young and they had the best time getting lost in the maze or finding the biggest and best pumpkin after the hayride tractor dropped us off in the fields. When Didier Farms closes in the fall on Halloween, it kind of depresses me that Winter is approaching.  Actually this year we are experiencing an even earlier winter. During the next few weeks at Didier Farms  there is one admission fee  until 2:00 ($10.50) that covers the tractor hayrides , corn maze, petting zoo, pony rides, moonwalk and other mechanical rides.   After 2:00 pm and all day on weekends,tickets at Didier Farms will need to be purchased separately  for all events.  Wristband Thursdays is $13 for unlimited rides.  Th...
