I got to stop by the Evanston IL Fountain Square Art Festival 2016 for a few minutes early on during the festivities. I was working and did not get to spend much time enjoying myself but I did manage to capture some of what what going on for you to see. This is a great festival that is still going on today. If you get a chance I would recommend you check it out. The art work is fantastic, the food selection is out of this world and the entertainment is great.The temperature yesterday was great, about 70 with a slight breeze and felt so good. The city of Evanston is having the annual Fountain Square Art Festival today Saturday June 25th from 10 AM to 9PM with a Brewfest going on between 6 and 9 PM and then Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. This years Custer Street Fair in Evanston IL was great. I truly enjoyed myself. The weather was near perfect and I have seen a few times where Mother Nature dropped rain on the fair and closed things down. This not the case this year. The Custer Street Fair is a highlight of the Evanston street fest scene and one of the best. People come from all over to enjoy this scene.There was live music, tons of great food and drink. We had people walking the streets, Custer street and Chicago avenue is shut down and people have a blast. We just got the complete data for the Evanston IL Real Estate May 2016 Market report. There is been quite a change from last month's report. We are seeing a big difference between attached (Condos and townhouses) and Single Family homes. First we look at the whole Evanston Real Estate picture. For this period which is through June 14th 2016 and looking at one month of data, we have 7% less news listing of all property types and 1% gain of closed sales. The inventory is down 28.1% but if you read further it is a reflection of condos.In viewing Detached properties which is single family homes, we have 15.5% more new listings during this period and a whopping 56% gain in under contract properties for this month with 78 new home listings as opposed to 50 in this time frame of 2015. This morning I stepped out to catch the sunrise. A cool 65 degrees was very pleasant, Saturday it was in the 90's and that is unusual for June in Chicago. The South Blvd Beach is where I took these photos and made a little slide show to show the transition as the sun came up across the lake on the Michigan side. I am not going back too far, this was Monday on Memorial Day. A fine day it was. The temp was just right and we went for a long walk and just checked the beach out. I really enjoyed myself and when we were walking I bumped into an old friend I had not seen in many years. He was also out for a stroll and we hugged each other.
