On January 23rd 2015 I took this photo at the Evanston Lakefront at sunrise and it was really cold and snowy. Today, one year later we have temps in the low 30's and not much show. Our friends out east are covered in snow. I feel grateful that we did not get this in Chicago land but also feel very had for the people who are snowed in. Peace and love to you and please be careful, stay warm and get help if you need it. Don't shovel if you are not up to it.

The houses for sale in Evanston IL statistics through the end of 2015 have just come out. 2015 was a very busy year and at the end of 2015 we had the highest sales in five years. It is no surprise, Evanston IL Is a very desired place to live and has become even more so in the last few years. Here is our Evanston IL Real Estate Update for January 2015. As compared to the same time frame last year we have 30% less new listings of all types of properties 26.7 less inventory of all types of homes yet a 28.6% gain in closed sales in Evanston Real Estate. To break it down a bit, December had 38.7 less single family new listings, at 19 in this time frame of 2015 compared with 31 houses listed in December of 2014. what is promising is that we see a 44.4% gain in under contract single family homes and an average sales price that went up 4.7%. Average market time for December of 2015 is up 4.7% at 112 days for houses and 107 days this time 2014.As for Evanston IL condominiums we see 20.7 less new listings in December 2015 but we see 44% more under contract condos and 41% more closed ...

Starting last night we got hit with a pretty good snow storm. We have about 3 inches on the ground, yesterday it was really cold in the teens. Today we have an Evanston IL Real Estate Update with data current through December 14th. Our stats show 20% less new listings, a gain of 13% in closed sales of all property types and 12.9% less change in inventory of all properties compared to the same time last year. Regarding single family homes, November showed a 10.7% gain of new listings, an 18.7% gain of under contract sales of houses and 7.7% less closed sales of single family homes as compared to the same time last year.The average sales price of single family homes has gone up 24.9% but the average market time is also up 66.6% to 101 days compared with 61 days exactly one year ago.
