Fox Valley and Geneva in particular are blessed to have the Parcell family showing an incredible display of Christmas lights this year. www.twasthenightbefore.com/index.shtml is a great website that tells of the meaning of Christmas and why they do the displays. Quite a parallel to the meaning that is displayed in the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. Give the feedback. Go and visit 813 Cheever Avenue in Geneva this season. So I've been working in the Geneva, Illinois area for over 13 years now.  Day in and day out I'm out and about the town visiting listings and doing the normal business one would expect in this industry.  I've met all kinds of people and shared all sorts of experiences... Can't wait to coach my first football game tomorrow!  I have a 7 year old and a 9 year old both in two different sessions of the same league.  We have a more popular "Tri-City Football" that's been around from when I was a kid.  The reality is that I loved football, but hated Tri-city football.  They had practice every day of the week or 4 out of 5 days a week.  Too much for kids that age.  Saint Charles, Geneva and Batavia all participate in Tri-City programs, but I dont' want them to experience what I've experienced.  I have a lot of dads say that the coaches and the program is "way too intense" and they've pulled their boys out despite the $500+ fee.  Many just didn't sign up again.  I want my kids to play football....BUT I WANT THEM TO PLAY FOOTBALL ONLY IF THEY WANT TO.  I'm not a ...

Geneva, IL is such a special place this time of year. All of the little white lights on Third St. make it look so festive. The Christmas Walk was last weekend which always a great crowd. The Geneva Chamber of Commerce does a fantastic job of coordinating these neat events and is wonderful for all the merchants. Now, as to why I'm excited....I'm getting a few hints the Real Estate market is perhaps starting to bottom out. I was listening to a couple of economic pundits the other morning and for the first time they were fairly optimistic that the market was going to start moving up. They were not saying we were going back to 2005 but begin returning to a normal market. Of course, as usual, there were some on the panel who did not agree to be fair. The other day I was showing homes to a very nice lady in Eagle Brook subdivision in Geneva, IL.  It's a beautiful golf course community and we were having fun, discussing decorating, size of rooms, views of the golf course, etc. Then the dreaded subject of MARKET CONDITIONS came up.  She had a discussion with an attorney the day before and he stated the Realtors had driven up the prices in the last few years.  I have never heard anything so stupid! Would he then say Realtors drove down prices this past year in Geneva, IL? Thanks to the media there are so many misconceptions that have to be addressed every day in my profession.Prices are really set by the simple Law Of Supply & Demand. I recently read a comment in the Kane County Chronicle regarding installing cameras at certain points in Geneva, IL to catch people who go through red lights. I'd be interested to hear what residents living in Geneva think of the idea.  Personally, I think it's a GREAT idea!  I have noticed lately that loads of people are doing this & hopefully, if it saves even one life, it's worth it.  It seems to me that everyone is in such a hurry - to where, what is so important?? I can understand it if someone is rushing to the hospital!  Randall Rd. is becoming impossible with everyone in a hurry to get to the next red light.
