Updated 2022 Strawberry Hill in Glencoe, IL Strawberry Hill in Glencoe, IL is a subdivision that lies in the western side of Glencoe, abutting the beautiful Cook County Forest Preserves and the Skokie Lagoons. After the main part of Glencoe was developed, this side, which was then called the Skokie Marsh, was drained and built over. Strawberry Hill compromises approximately 160 acres and was opened up for development after World War II. The driving force behind the architectural style here was Greta Lederer, who designed the newly popular bi- and tri-level homes that so dominate the area.
