Don't Be Fooled by These 6 Grammar Myths Grammar matters. That idea at first seems out of date, but in fact grammar is now more important than ever. Websites, videos, blogs, and social networks are filled with written and spoken words. Grammatical mistakes may not matter for a teenager on Facebook, but they clearly don’t look good for a business. The problem is, people often disagree about what is grammatically correct. Here are some myths to dispel: Myth: Never start a sentence with ”and,” “or,” or “but.” These conjunctions typically appear in the middle of a sentence to separate two equal thoughts: “Today, we’ll work in the garden and we’ll clean out the garage.” But starting a sentence with a conjunction (like this one just did) sounds perfectly fine and helps move the narrativ...
