Let's face it, no one has the cash to purchase a home outright anymore so everyone turns to a lender for advice and guidance.  (updated 3/25/17)What you should look for in a loan officer is their ability to fit you into particular programs that you didn't know about that might be a benefit to you. Here's a great example if you need down payment assistance. Instead of waiting a few more months to save up that complete down payment this program can help you out. Real Estate Market Update - Northwest Suburbs - February 2014 This is the place to get those current housing questions answered about the real estate market in the Northwest Suburbs! Our local inventory level has continued to decrease and this should be considered a sellers market.  With these levels, buyers are knocking each other down to get into a listing that's priced well and in good condition. Hands down buying a home wins over renting! Well you say, I'm not sure I believe you because you're selling real estate and just want to make a sale. I'd love to make a sale and get you into a new home but only if it's right for you! There is so much evidence now that owning a home would be cheaper for you than renting that it's overwhelming. But let me give you some statistics so you can see where I'm coming from:   Mortgage rates are low and the monthly cost of owning a home is more affordable than at any point in the past 15 years and is less expensive than renting in a growing number of cities.
