Skokie Illinois is a Chicago Suburb just west of Evanston and bordering on Chicago. It is a very affordable place to live and has one of the best shopping malls in the area called Old Orchard. Old Orchard Mall has many nice stores such as Nordstrom, Macys, Bloomingdale's, Lord & Taylor as well as many fine restaurants of all types. It was a one of the first suburban shopping malls and opened in 1956. Skokie also is the home of the North Shore Center For the Performing Arts and has many great concerts and cultural events throughout the year. A truly fun place to visit.
