Homes In Historic Downtown Woodstock Illinois Well I made it to Woodstock in good time with no snow to slow me down, however, it is snowing now...it's beautiful and I miss it.  I also miss being able to just log on and visit my AR friends and these trips make that a little difficult.  The worst is reading on my Droid all the comments left at my posts and not being able to respond...at least until now.  Currently I'm at the mercy of the Woodstock Public Library which is closed...on to plan "B"...Starbucks.  Actually, this is my first Internet visit to Starbucks and it's not as bad as I thought it would be...after all everyone else here has a computer...wow how coffee shops have changed.   Earlier this morning I drove around historic Down town Woodstock and thought I'd share some photo's ...

Woodstock Illinois...My Last Look At The Neighborhood. On my last day in Woodstock I thought I'd take a couple of photos's looking out the front and back door of my home there just as a reminder and to show you why I miss it so much.  Now these are not views like Craig Rutman had on his Thanksgiving trip to Florida, but still it's home to me and just as peaceful.  The next time I visit home there will probably be several inches of snow that always make for great photo opps.  Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. View out my front door. View out the back Looking north. Looking south Okay, sunny Florida it's not and I would have had a great time with Craig in Florida, but home is where the heart is and the heart was in Woodstock Illinois this Thanksgiving Day. If you need a...

When You Find Something That Works...Stick With It...My thankful plug for Swedish Car Specialists Just like in real estate, when you find a plan that works...stick with it.  When you find an agent or business partner that act in your best interest, share your ethics...stick with them.  As many of you know I've taken a trip north to Woodstock Illinois for Turkey day, home maintenance and car repairs.  Why the strange intro???  Because about 30 years ago a man named Randy Keller worked on my first old Volvo and because of his honesty and high skill level I've stayed with him ever since.  Randy Keller and Lester Fahlgren owners of Swedish Car Specialist Inc. in Schaumburg Illinois are knowledgeable, honest and share the same work ethics that I have.  If you are a Volvo Nut...Swedish Car Sp...

Attention Homeowners: If your home is not currently listed and you hope to get your home sold this Spring, NOW is the time to put your home on the market.  Traditionally in our area homesellers have waited until AFTER the Superbowl to list for the Spring market.  But this year is different. Why? 1. Homebuyers have a great incentive to LOOK EARLY this year. Perhaps you've heard of the $8,000 tax credit for 1st time homebuyers.  This credit expires at midnight on April 30, 2010.  For any 1st time homebuyer who has NOT Contracted to buy a home by this date, THEIR TIME IS UP! 2. Homesellers have a great incentive to LIST EARLY this year. Perhaps you've heard of the $6,500 tax credit incentive for long-time Homeowners.  This credit also expires at midnight on April 30, 2010.  This means that...

(Home Check America Inspection Services)
Most home inspections occur at the time a home is bought or sold. Buyer-seller inspections may assure that a home is suitable for sale or purchase, but buyer-seller inspections don't prevent natural wear-and-tear on a home. Even after the closing contract is signed, the structural and mechanical systems of a home continue to deteriorate.· The average family occupies a home for eleven years. This means that there are eleven years of damage that accrue on the home from normal usage, obsolecense of building materials, obsolecense of mechanical systems, inclement weather, and more.· Heat causes building materials to expand. As building materials expand due to extreme or continuous exposure to heat (such as from the Sun), those materials can, and often will, twist, warp, bend, pull apart, an...
