We all know that time is ticking down on the 1st time home buyers tax credit.  As it stands today we are down to 35 days left.  While most Realtors are saying HURRY UP BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!  Not me.  I say Hold on a sec, wait, wait, wait, do you really want to buy THIS house?  Are you sure it's exactly what you want?  I know, I know, your in a hurry to get the rebate but ARE YOU SURE?  This thing has pink carpet dude. Yesterday I had lunch with another agent in the office at Smokey Bones in Jefferson Pointe here in Fort Wayne.  I've eaten there MANY times before and have always been pleased with the service and the food.  Well, until yesterday.  We were in a bit of a rush because we were meeting with an interior designer at 12:00 so we got there at 11:00 thinking that would be more than enough time.  We ordered at 11:10 and before we knew it... it was 11:40 and we still hadn't received our food.  I'm not "that guy" that gets mad about things like this, I understand sometimes things happen.  We asked our server what was up and she sent the manager over.  He apoligized over and over and then gave us our meals FREE! I certainly didn't expect that and was very pleased about the way the manager handled it...

    The following report is reflective of data obtained through the Fort Wayne MLS for single family, site built, existing homes in Allen County located in Northeast Indiana for the 3rd quarter of 2008 and 2009 and year to date.            I've finally figured out how to insert charts and graphs into this blog platform, so forgive me if it seems a little overdone at this point...but visual information is more easily absorbed than text, so let's get started. For the 3rd Quarter of 2009:   Units Sold in the 3rd Quarter were down from 1,246 in 2008 to 1,190 units in 2009 or -4.5%             While the number of units sold was down for the 3rd quarter of 2009 in comparison to 2008, the Average sales price for the same time period was up from $111,045 in 2008 to $119,080 for 2009 or 7.2%    ...

     Today Coldwell Banker Real Estate released their annual home price comparison index for the United States and select International markets and what an eye opener it is.      Unlike a lot of the reports you see that compare median home prices for particular areas, this report takes a hypothetical 2,200 square foot, four bedroom, two and a half bath home and indexes it in 310 different U.S. markets. So you get an apples to apples comparison home in all of the markets.      This years most expensive market is in La Jolla California where the subject home would average $2,125,000....yeah million, counts me out and the most affordable market is in Grayling Michigan where the same home averages just $112,675.      That leaves a gap of 2 million dollars between the most expensive market a...

General Motors has announced plans to add a third production shift at its pickup truck assembly plant in Allen County. The third production shift is expected to begin operation in April, 2010.  It's part of a production ramp up by GM.   The Fort Wayne plant, which began production in 1986, has never had a third shift before.  The plant's second shift was added in 1987. The move will require the hiring of approximately 700 additional workers.   The plant currently employs about 3,000.  Great news for Fort Wayne!   The production increase is intended to build up inventory of pickup trucks, even though GM admits the market is still not as strong as it once was.  However, demand for the Silverado and Sierra pickups has allowed GM to command a 40 percent market share for pickups in North Ame...
