CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2009 MWL Champions FORT WAYNE TIN CAPS!!!   The Fort Wayne TinCaps won the first championship in franchise history with a 4-3 victory over the Burlington Bees, Thursday at Community Park. Fort Wayne finished a three-game sweep as four relievers combined on 3.2 scoreless frames and Jaff Decker belted a two-run homer. It is the first Midwest League championship in the 17-year history of the franchis, formerly known as the Fort Wayne Wizards.   Thursday’s win was Fort Wayne’s 101st of the year, counting regular-season and playoff games. That total ties the Midwest League record set by the 1978 Appleton Foxes, who won 97 regular-season games and four more in the postseason on their way to a title.   If you would like to buy or sell a home in Fort Wayne Indiana or in...

These last few days I have found myself getting increasingly annoyed.  Nothing major, just minor things stacking up on top of each other.  Little things like... A 2 hour home inspection with an inspector that talks...  ALOT Moving my mother in law back to Fort Wayne...  how can a single woman have so much STUFF???? Found out my son is not turning in homework in a few classes and getting failing grades And a few other things I won't talk about here.  :)  Well, after mowing my mother in law's yard that hadn't been mowed in a month I had just about had it.  I come home with the intention to get a good workout in on the treadmill.  I walk in and guess what?  My wife had just started her workout.  Okay, no biggie........  I'll just go on a bike ride instead...  GRRRRRRRRRRR I hop on the bike...

It's Labor Day weekend so I don't want to go into a huge laundry list of things you should do this weekend.  Most importantly spend some time with the ones  you love the most and put aside the work and to-do lists and just enjoy the few last days of summer. Enjoy the lake or have a cookout. If you have the time please come out and support the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Friday or Saturday at the Foellinger outdoor theatre. Musicians are donating their services to perform 3 concerts in two days in order to raise much needed monies for the philharmonic...check out the website for more details and times...we hope to see all of you there. Don't forget the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival  is this weekend in Auburn...so if you're a car guy/gal it's well worth your while to make the short drive no...

For sale by owner is this beautiful well maintained home close to everything. One minute away from I 69, across the street from Dupont Hospital and close to movie theaters, restaurants and shopping. Award winning Carroll school systems, with low taxes and association dues. What we feel separates this home from many others on the market, is that this one is move in ready. You hear that a lot, only to find that you have to replace the carpeting, paint every room and change something significant about the home. You should have to do very little here, with new carpeting, ceramic tile and paint in every room. Additionally, the lawn is well manicured and the landscaping is DONE. Sure, there are homes out there for less, but when you add up all the things mentioned above, it can easily run you...

I've been a Realtor for 8 months now.  My company does open houses for a new construction company here in Fort Wayne so I was fortunate enough to have my pick of 3-5 new homes to do open houses on every week.  At first I was ecstatic that I was that lucky!!! Well, I did open houses every single Sunday for MONTHS!  I got lead after lead after lead and thought things couldn't get any better.  I followed up with a post card campaign and phone calls and then more post cards and guess how many deals I have closed from those open houses???  ZERO NOTHING NADDA ZILCH Some of the open houses were in the newspaper, some of them I knocked on doors in the neighborhood a few days before hand and handed out fliers, and I blogged about ALL of them and also put them on craigslist.com, and had signs out...

I promised myself that last week wasn't just a fluke, and that I would continue to find interesting and new (not to all) things to do in this great city from week to week.     So for Friday it's "Hang out with your pinky out" evening...start the evening off enjoying a nice prime aged steak and some of the finest wines at Eddie Merlots       Then make plans to attend the Opening Reception of the newest exhibit at Artlink 437 East Berry titled The Lake.  Works depicting the area Lakes that we so often enjoy on the weekends    Saturday is a big day so get your rest after visiting the new Artlink exhibit.  Start the day off right by visiting the Downtown Barr Street Market from 8 am til noon for some of the best locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey, flowers and more. Live music this...

I was reading an article on FortWayne.com this morning about the local GM Plant.  It looks like the Cash For Clunkers have really put a more positive outlook on things for General Motors, Inc. GM announced Tuesday that it will add 60,000 vehicles to it’s North American production schedule through the end of the year. GM Vice President Tim Lee said the workweek at the company’s Allen County assembly plant will be extended from four days to five to make it easier to add overtime. The Fort Wayne Assembly Plant’s employees began working weeks of 4 days of 10 hour shifts Monday.   Workers here returned to work July 20, 2009.  There have been rumors that a third shift might be added to the local plant! Hopefully the news for the local Fort Wayne GM Plant will continue to be GOOD NEWS!! If yo...

Is it the STRESS of a home inspection gone wrong? Is it the FRUSTRATION of having your Buyer call another agent and end up buying with him? Is it the BOREDOM of sitting at another SLOOOOOOW open house? Is it your monthly FEE to your real estate company? Is it showing 12 CHEAP homes to an investor on a 90 DEGREE day? Is it the STRESS of thinking that after this closing next week that you have NOTHING else lined up? Is it listing your STEP BROTHER'S house and having it SIT for two months? Is it the PAPERWORK?????????? Or is it.... The rush of meeting new people EVERY DAY?? The rush of calling your STEP BROTHER and saying THEY ACCEPTED YOUR COUNTER! FREEDOM!!!!!!!  (I typed that with my best William Wallace accent) The rush of PROBLEM SOLVING?? The rush of switching gears 15 TIMES during a...

Here we go, installment #4 of my series of "What I have Learned in my short time of being a Fort Wayne Realtor" Installment 1 can be found HERE, installment 2 HERE, and installment 3 HERE.  I hope that this installment can be just as entertaining as the first 3!  I HAVE LEARNED... That even though listing your step brother's house brings a little more PRESSURE than a regular listing, being able to call his wife and say ACCEPTED OFFER and hear her scream on the other end is TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! That I really enjoy getting new clients, finding the perfect house for them, and writing offers is FUN!!!!  Inspections...  eh... not so much.  :) That having four accepted offers in a week is FANTASTIC!!  Dealing with four inspections the following week...  see above.  :)  That an inspection on a ...

Again, we have been so busy that I have not taken the time to sit down and blog!!!  I need to blog!  My website needs me to blog so it can be found!!  I need to be back on the front page of google…  Let’s recap the last few weeks: Had an offer accepted for 3 buyers and 1 seller.  YAY!!  That’s great, but what comes next is the inspections.  Try 4 in a week…  NOT FUN! The first inspection has been the most painful to date.  The home is a 109 year old farmhouse that has been completely remodeled and is GORGEOUS!  The bad news?  A few major issues on the inspection.  Can’t go into any detail but we are hoping the sellers will fix the probems. The second inspection was on a 13 year old house and took 45 minutes.  Piece of cake.  Only 3 minor things came up.  THANK YOU!! The third inspection...
