Wordless Wednesday – Or Is It WEIRD Wednesday??? This home is in a Noblesville, Indiana neighborhood where I just sold a home.  Luckily it is not right across the street!!  You see the naked man standing in the window?  That’s Bob.  Bob stands there 24/7.  He never moves, never waves, never smiles.  I am told he has thousands of identical twin brothers. I am also told that the person living with Bob used to be a karate instructor and ‘Bob’ is his kicking/punching bag. Is it just me or is that not a normal window décor?

This little guy (girl?) lives under the deck of one of my past clients in Noblesville, Indiana.  Seems as if he has picked a perfect spot, though there is probably not much vegetation under there.  Maybe my clients could shove some lettuce and carrots under there. I guess it is driving the family dogs crazy.  Everybody has to live somewhere, right?

I have been trying for years to get a picture of this sign. It is at a rather busy intersection.  One would have thought that the Noblesville Street Department would have beat me to it and replaced it!  I hope everyone who takes a look sees the obvious!!   I am thankful that even though others have probably noticed, they have chosen not to report it.  It is good for a smile each time you drive by!!

I'm happy to report that there are also plenty of fun things to do and see in Noblesville Indiana. I’ve compiled a list of favorites. Try a few and I think you´ll agree that Noblesville really is a "best" in the Midwest!     Very soon, I hope to get back to writing some posts with some substance, but for now, I will have to settle for what time will allow. That said, what better to post for ‘Speechless Sunday’ (or maybe Silent Saturday would have been more apropos)  than a picture that makes noise and lots of it??  Go ahead look at this picture of what I think is a female Downy Woodpecker and tell me you do not hear her rat-a-tat-tat as she pecks away in search of lunch?  It is one of those pictures  impossible to view and turn off the volume!!  Taken around 11:00 this morning in my yard in Noblesville, Indiana.

Every year, the elementary schools in Noblesville, Indiana designate one day of the year as Grandparents’ Day. The children prepare special artwork, snacks and sometimes a program of music to share with their grandparents.   The grandparents are invited to come to school for a couple of hours towards the end of the day and visit with their grandchildren.  This has been a tradition since I have lived in Noblesville, over twenty years.  Last Friday was that special day.  At the present time, I only have one grandchild in elementary school.  My husband and I showed up promptly at 2:00 as did Grandpa Jerry.  We were greeted by Jack, grinning from ear to ear.  Jack proceeded to show us around his classroom.  STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   After about 15 m...

Morse Pointe is a planned Noblesville Indiana subdivision of 291 homes built between 1998 and 2004. The popular Noblesville neighborhood features a combination of modestly priced single-story and two-story homes built on large, wooded lots with plenty of green space. These Noblesville homes average 1800 square feet, most without a basement. Morse Pointe real estate has had modest success over the past six months, with six homes sold at an average days on the market of 63. The quickest sale was made in just 9 days! One of the many attractions of this popular Noblesville neighborhood is its close proximity (literally, less than 5 minutes) to beautiful Morse Park & Reservoir and easy access to other Noblesville amenities.    Morse Pointe Location: State Road 38 east of Little Chicago Roa...

Today is Veterans Day.  My American flag is proudly displayed at my home in Noblesville, Indiana----but it is proudly displayed 365 days a year!  I looked down the street and I see that a few of my neighbors have their flags out too, but not nearly as many as I saw after 9/11.  Where is our patriotism?  If you forgot to hang your flag, it is not too late!!

I've made it a point in the past few years to avoid Thanksgiving-weekend shopping--like the plaque. And let me assure you that I'm normally the most dedicated of shoppers. It's just that parking lot rage, ridiculous lines and dubious "deals" somehow negate the joy. But that all changes this year! On Nov. 27, I plan to hop a train to downtown Noblesville where I'll shop til I drop in the peaceful yet festive atmosphere of the quaint courthouse square! The inaugural Holiday Shoppers' Express to Noblesville gets its engines chugging on Saturday, Nov. 27 with round-trip train rides from the Fishers Train Station to a stop in Noblesville just half a block away from the charming city square. While on board, passengers can gear up for the fun ahead by participating in a Name the Train contest....

My husband enjoys feeding the birds.  He puts peanuts out for the Blue Jays and they love them!!  When I was a little girl, we resqued a Blue Jay with an injured wing.  He was not able to fly, so he became a family pet.  We called him 'Blue'.  He thought my mom was his mate.  He would try to feed her and make romantic little noises for her.  He could also do the wolf call---which he usually did when he saw Mom.  I am so thankful to have these birds in my backyard to remind me of those wonderful memories!

The charming streets of downtown Noblesville are THE place to be this Friday night, Nov. 5, when restaurants and merchants open their doors to welcome in the holiday season.  Noblesville First Friday festivities, from 5-8 p.m., will include a soup cook-off featuring the yummy tastings of seven local restaurants, and holiday open houses at many of the shops and boutiques on the downtown square! If you've never visited historic downtown Noblesville, prepare to be delighted by the late 1800s architecture, which includes 53 buildings on the National Register of Historic places, and the hometown feel of quaint shops and eateries. I personally love the unique star-stamped bricks used to pave downtown sidewalks and the stunning details of the French Renaissance style Old Noblesville Courtho...

Approximately six feet up in the branches of a Blue Spruce.  Harbour Trees Golf Course in Noblesville, Indiana.  We have notified the Pro Shop in case the owner wants to claim it. Probably could not do this again if he/she tried!  Just hope a bird does not try to hatch it!

As of today, there's one less Noblesville Indiana home for sale. Sadly, this isn't a SOLD story. Instead, it's the story of what happens when homeowners indulge in overpersonalization. This particular home is beautiful, has plenty of updates, is in a great neighborhood, and got numerous showings. We just couldn't get anyone to bite. The problem? Overpersonalization. What had once been a garage was now a cozy family room. Does the family room add extra living space? Yes. Does it provide shelter for people and vehicles during frigid Indiana winters? Nope. Does it it offer a place to store all those things that just seem to belong in... well, the garage? No again. Feedback from nearly every showing went something like this: Beautiful home, buyers just don't think they can make it work with...

Don’t let your home go to foreclosure/Sheriff's Sale and have your mortgage company freeze your assets when they come after you for the deficiency balance!  It can happen!             There are many  ways to lose your home but having the Sheriff show up at your door is the  hardest. Then to have your mortgage company then come after you for the deficiency judgment by freezing your assets/bank account makes life even more challenging.  For owners who can’t afford to keep mortgage payments current any  longer or are behind already on their mortgage, there are alternatives to  bankruptcy or foreclosure.   One of those  options is called a "short sale."   More than half  of our listing inventory are Short Sales and Foreclosures.   When lenders  agree to do a short sale property on your ho...

Not only is Noblesville Indiana a great place for families, it’s now officially a great place for senior citizens as well!  Word’s out that Noblesville made the Top 5 in an MSN Money article naming the Best Cheap Places to Retire in the U.S. The list, compiled by Bert Sperling of Sperling’s Best Places, considered affordable housing, a stable economy, reasonable access to medical care and a wealth of leisure activities in its choices. Noblesville, it seems, has all those in abundance! This newest Noblesville accolade got me thinking about all those that have preceded it in the past few years, and just for fun I decided to make list. It's pretty impressive, don't you think? 2010 Best Cheap Places to Retire --MSN Money All-America City Finalist --National Civic League 2009 10 Best Towns...

Noblesville was recognized by Bert Sperling of Sperling's Best Places as one of the cheapest places to retire citing it's low median home prices and health care. Meanwhile, CNNMoney.com ranked Fishers today as the 8th best place to live in America citing it's location, schools, and affordability. Carmel ranked 14th and was recognized for it's Arts and Design District. All three communities are great affordable suburbs north of Indianapolis.
