I have been noticing a lot of issues lately at my local drug store that have been driving me up the wall! If you have read my previous, you know that my family has been ill recently and doctor’s visits and prescriptions are a must. Last week, I spent several hours in the emergency room with my husband who ended up having Rocky Mountain spotted fever. So at 8:00pm I ran over to the drug store to drop off a prescription where I was told the astronomical price and that it would be about 45 minutes. I dropped it and left. At 8:50 I found myself bolting the drug store to pick it up and when I got to the door (at 8:55) I very rudely stopped at the door by the manager who told me that they closed in 3 minutes and the doors would be locked, that I needed to hurry. I was watching yet another documentary today; I have gotten sucked into them now that I have on demand television (I am stepping into the new age! Congratulate me!) This one was about how often specific items in your home should be cleaned. Now, I am a cleaning fanatic! I do a once daily 45 minute overhaul of my home. I touch up the kitchen, refresh the bathrooms, do dishes and laundry and sweep the floors. Now, when you have 2 kids, 2 dogs, 3 cats and 5 hermit crabs, this is a necessity. After watching the documentary on Lyme disease and its rapid spreading throughout the United States, I decided to do some research and dig a little deeper into the subject. Why? Well, because it is such a low rated disease that is so easy to catch and extremely difficult to get rid of. Doctors are pushing the Lyme disease scare off to the side, some even saying it doesn’t exist and that it is a mental disease more than anything. In 2009 and 2010 the number of cases related to tick borne illnesses has skyrocketed by nearly 70%. This is just reported cases, not actually numbers as so many have absolutely no idea what they have and doctors all over the country are misdiagnosing!
