The few times I've been on a boat — outside of a cruise ship — the thing that has stuck with me has been a combination of the noise and the smell of diesel, which made the experience not so pleasurable. So, when asked to take to sea on the new electrical-hybrid yacht, I was a little skeptical, but by the end of my sail, I wished the experience had been longer. But I was convinced — the Mochi Craft Long Range 23 is revolutionary!   The 75-foot yacht was smooth sailing. It was so quiet as we cruised the waters between Lyford Cay and Old Fort Bay that all I heard was the sounds of the waves lapping the vessel as the occasional murmur of voices from others onboard. And I didn't have to run from one end to the next because there wasn't any fumes from a diesel-powered engine to bother me. Al...

Charlotte Church is sure that her wedding day will be perfect - after all, she's holding it in Paradise. The Over the Rainbow judge and her rugby player fiance Gavin Henson, who announced they were getting married earlier this week, are hoping for a July wedding. And instead of it being a pie and a pint affair in their Cardiff hometown, Gavin, 28, wants to tie the knot on stunning Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The couple, who have two children - Ruby, two, and Dexter, 15 months - are considering its Atlantis resort because it's geared-up for kids. April 9 (Bloomberg) -- Sotheby’s, the world’s top publicly traded auction company, sold HK$2 billion ($258 million) of antiques and paintings in Hong Kong as signs of a global recovery pushed prices of top lots to pre-credit-crisis levels. The tally on Sotheby’s packed 5-day auction of 2,400 items that ended yesterday beat the company’s estimate of HK$1.3 billion. Bidders, especially mainland Chinese, competed for imperial totems and ink paintings by deceased masters such as Fu Baoshi. The total was a record for Sotheby’s in Hong Kong, and nearly 40 percent came from antiques. For the first time since the 2008-2009 global rout, bidders vied for top Chinese contemporary artworks, driving prices to 2-year highs. “People were in a mood to buy,” said Liang Hejun, a Chinese collector who pa...

The Bahamas UK Tourist Office campaign, called the 14 Islands Film Challenge, was a six-month competition to find 14 aspiring and professional film-makers in the UK to send to the Bahamas and write, shoot, edit, and produce and direct 14 films on 14 of the Islands of The Bahamas. 'Grandpa's Quest' by Kevin Curtis is my favourite! True story-telling genius which weaves in the many assets of Crooked Island. In this wonderful family tale, 'grandpa' tells his grandchildren the story of how he was given favour to begin dating their grandmother. It was no easy task! The film features music by Bruce 'Scrappy' Knowles, Tommy Thompson, and Reggie Moss; and incidental music by Jason Chatwin. The film stars: Javen Gibson, Fr. Franklyn Colebrooke, Bernard Ferguson, Tynesha Collie, Creselle Rose, El...

When it comes to the housing market and the Internet the UK presents a strange situation. All research indicates that 80% of buyers go to the Internet to find their next home. The figures for those selling online are dramatically lower with only 2-5% max selling online. So why the big difference? It could be said that maybe the Brits are very conservative and don't trust online estate agents. Others may suggest that the UK estate agency industry is so strong that new models cannot break into the maket. I feel that the UK is virgin territory for new online real estate services that will help you sell your home and at the same time provide a service from a realtor. Online agencies are not for sale by owner operations but more like a centrally based companies that can provide most of the ...
