Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead at Overland Park, Kansas was established n 1976 as a living history project of Overland Park, Kansas.  In 1985, the Farmstead received its present name and was dedicated in memory of Deanna Rose, an Overland Park police office who died in the line of duty.The eight-acre Farmstead is home to many types of farm animals, with the babies being a special attraction in the spring.  The baby animals are available to interact with the visitors, especially children., but there are slides in the silo too and hayrides, picnic tours and other good times.The intent of the Farmstead/Park is to replicate a turn of the century farm with suitable buildings which were used to work with the conditions of the time.  With no air conditioning, cooking was moved to the summer ... 01/16/2007
