The first Saturday in May every year is the famous Kentucky Derby. One and half miles long,  known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports".  It is the first leg of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred  Racing.  Typically the race draws a crowd of approximately 160,000 fans.  The fireworks are spectacular along with the numerous Derby parties. The traditional singing of My Old Kentucky Home as the horses come on to the track  makes you aware that it's only minutes to the Run for the Roses.
