I learned a new kitchen tip today.  You know when you try to pull some foil out and the whole roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over.  Well, I would like to share this with you. If you look at the end of a Reynolds foil box you'll find the works "press here to lock end". How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something.   I know some   may have already known this but it was news to me.  I try not to spend too much time in the kitchen....I prefer selling Real Estate.

We are seeing a lot of young people come into the market place to take advantage of the new $8000 tax credit.  Its always fun to see their excitement when buying their first home.  Did you know that tax payers that have  purchased a home this year or that will be purchasing a home in the near future who have already filed their 2008 tax return can consider filling an amended tax return.  The amended tax return will allow them to claim the homebuyer credit on the 2008 tax return without waiting until next year to clain it on the 2009 return. For some taxpayers, it may make more financial sense to wait and claim the homebuyer credit next year when they file the 2009 tax return rather than claiming it now on the 2008 tax return.  This could benefit taxpayers who might qualify for a higher ...

Last week one of our staff members was on vacation.  It took all of us pitching in to get the job done, and when she's here its done with such ease you would not even know she was busy.  She is our receptionist that works the front desk.  The phone would absolutely drive me crazy but for her it is a breeze. She always has a smile on her face, and is so pleasant with all of our customers & clients.    WELCOME HOME TERESA WE LOVE YOU!!!

You have to look hard but if you go to page 3 of the Sunday's Messenger & Inquirer you find a story about the women's college basketball NCAA tournament.  Did you know the Women's Louisville Cardinals advanced to the regional championship game?   They won 56-39 over Baylor sending them to the regional championship game.  They play tonight facing Maryland on ESPN @ 6 PM.  If it's a Kentucky team playing, you know who I'm for.......Go Cards!

I have just listed a small gift and specialty shop.  However I can not market the name and I have to get confidentiality agreements signs to even discuss with another agent.  I have all the necessary financials and think this will be a great business for someone since the owner is retiring and willing to stay on for a time to help the new buyer get settled.  I would appreciate any marketing ideas you could share with me.

The number 1 team in KY and the #1 team in the country proved themselves tonight. With power houses like T Will, Sosa, McGee, and Clark how can they lose? Tonight's game was a perfect example of the season for UL; They were loose, focused, and on their game. UL was hitting on all cylinders. UL's inside out game was working as well as their intensive defense. (of course I believe UL has 1 of the best defensive pressures in the country). Cardinal prediction: UL will move on to the final 4 facing Kansas showing them what the #1 BEAST IN THE EAST is capable of producing.   Bottom Line: with the #1 Team and the #1 Coach in the Country will win it all. Our chances look pretty good right now.   GO CARDS!!!!!

Have you ever had a loan officer change the financing on your contract?  I recently had an offer with a large cash down payment and the balance was to be paid by a conventional mortgage. I kept in touch  with the loan officer to make sure the appraisal was in and we were going to be closing on time.  She kept assuring me everything was on schedule and she did not see a problem closing by the date on the contract.  Two days before the closing I called to see if we had a time for the closing and she told me the bridge loan has not closed and once it closed we would have to wait another 3 days before we could close.  There was nothing on the contract about a bridge loan but she thought that would be a better way for the buyer to finance their home.  The buyer was in breach of contract, the...

Owensboro Medical Health System ranked in the top 5 percent nationally for 2009 and received the "HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital For Clinical Excellence Award"(TM)(according to WFIE the Internet, and the OMHS website) OMHS is rated in the top 270 hospitals in the country and is one of only five in the commonwealth to obtain this honorable award!   Apparently this group studies the mortality rates and clinical care of almost 5,000 non-federal hospitals.  According to OMHS's CEO Jeff Barber, this is an award that is hard to achieve. In my humble opinion, Owensboro, Kentucky is very fortunate to have OMHS.  Most area health systems do not ever achieve this recognition for high quality care!  I can tell you that from my previous Nursing experience and from living in other areas of the...

Ice Storm! I live at The Summit in Owensboro KY. If you haven't heard Ky has been declared a Natural Disaster Area. We are the lucky ones, in many ways. We got our power back on Sat night. Some are still without power. The storm hit Mon night and Tues night. It got down in the teens. We have gas             waterheater, stove and fireplace. See luckier than most. I found out you can survive, as long as you have water. But to get to the fun part. We (12 or 13 adults) had breakfast at one home. Then around 4pm we would have dinner at another home. All contributing in food and any other thing (like shoveling snow) Then by candlelight and lanterns we would play games. We played sequence and trivial pursuit.  We are tied in trivial pursuit 1 to 1. Girls against the guys of course. Then someti...

We're still here working, the weather didn't keep us down.  Its snowing, sleeting & the roads are a mess, but the phone is ringing.  I've gotten more done today than usual. I'm lovin it. Hopefully we won't get those 3" of snow they are predicting and everyone can get back to work.

I had forgotten how much fun it is to put deals together.  I had 4 contracts this week-end and it looks like 3 of them are going to work.  I love this business when we are busy but I had just about forgotten the excitement of working the deal.  I hope this is an example of what is just around the corner. Rates are great, the phone is ringing and agents are coming in to work. Yea we are back!!

I'm so glad to report we had a busy week-end.  I have four contracts on my desk the most I've had in months.  The phone is ringing, agents are in the office and I have a big smile of my face.  You can't beat the rates so let's get out there and start selling.

Do you want to feel like your on vacation 24/7. Come to The Summit to live! A beautiful private upscale 18 hole golf community! Sometimes The Summit features their homeowners in a members newsletter. The most used comment "I feel like I am on vacation when I enter the entrance". Your stress level and blood pressure immediately go down. It is maintained beautifully! Later I will do a blog on John the superintendent and Barry the golf pro and Barry the guy in charge. I have lived at The Summit since December of 2001. I don't want to live anywhere else. My neighbors are friendly but not nosey. It is very quiet place to live.  Please watch the attached video to see the beauty!!

Is your horse with the Dogwood tree available for purchase in a 16 x 20?  WHAT ???   This is the question I received  about the above Horse photo in my email on Nov. 11, 2007.  At first I thought it was a silly joke.  He couldn't be serious, could he?  Here are the actual emails, with last names xxxx out for privacy.  Date Nov. 11, 2008  Actual email I received:  "Good morning, I was wondering if the photo of the horse with the dogwood tree in the back ground would be available for purchase in a 16x20.  I work for Atmos Energy Corp and we are building a new office just off the bypass in Owensboro and need additional photos to hang." Larry xxxxx I thought surely he doesn't mean my activerain picture?( I show a bigger photo later in blog that is easier to see :) My response:   "Hi Larry, ...
