By Michael Thacker - Louisville RealtorMost people don’t really believe me when I tell them that yes the trains really does go right down the middle of the street in my hometown of La Grange, KY. They always say that I have to be kidding, there is no way they would allow that. Well, here is the proof! It has been going down the middle of town for years, from what I remember due to the trolley tracks of years going by taking the same route. Not sure if that is correct, but that is what I have always been told.Growing up, especially as a teen, I have no idea how many hours I have sat there twiddling my thumbs waiting on the train to get through town. It is one of those situations, that if you are caught, you will be there for a long while. Usually a train is well over 100 cars, and due to ...

GUARANTEED WINNING BET Greetings! Ryan Bruzan here. One of the most neglected home maintenance items, in the humblest of my experienced opinions, is changing the air filter(s) in the furnace. The commonly stated rule is to change the filter once per month, but depending on the season and the type of filter, that rule does not necessarily apply. With the variety of filters out there, it is important to understand the working conditions of the type of filter chosen. Some filters have instructions and important useful information on the packaging. The following paragraphs are simply my own observations as a homeowner. TYPES OF FILTERS Over the years I have tried a variety of filters for a variety of reasons: price, brand, review, experienced usage, energy bill, my own home energy research...

Gardens of Hunters Ridge is a condo community of high class townhomes that resemble a European Chalet.  These townhouses are located just outside of Prospect, KY and kids go to school in the Oldham County School district.  4101 Ethan Cole is a little unusual in that it is an end unit and has a walkout basement.  Being an end unit gives you another wall of windows and allows more natural light to flow in. This unit sold in one day.  Contact The Hollinden Team today to see how we can get your home SOLD just as quickly. The quality of this townhome is apparent upon entry onto the marble tiled floors.  You can see the hardwood stairs and iron balusters that shout CLASS.  There is an office in the front and then the kitchen area is ahead.  This kitchen has ceramic tile floors, granite count...

I show a lot of townhomes in the Louisville area, but they are not often of the quality of the townhomes in the Gardens of Hunters Ridge in Prospect, KY.  A lot of people want to be in Oldham County for the school system, but want to be close to Louisville KY as well.  This is a perfect fit as it marries both needs. There is some architectural flair to these townhomes as the front view reminds me of a European Chalet.  These are all good sized units ranging from 2300 to 2900 square feet.  Our unit is one of the larger ones at 2900, but does not have a basement.  Once inside, this townhome is so large, it is easy to forget this is not a stand-alone home. This townhome has an open floor plan and a modern kitchen with granite counter tops.  Not often do you see a kitchen with 18 foot ceilin...

Oldham County Veterinary Services in LaGrange, Kentucky across from Cherrywood Place subdivision is an awesome place to take your pets. Our friend gave us a kitten and after much debating, we named her Hollie Ali as a compromise. We added the Ali because she is such a scrapper, a little bitty thing and not scared of the big neighbor cats at all! You'd never know it by looking at her photo of her on the water bowl. She's a lover and a fighter! We normally keep our cats indoors but if we are outside or in the garage we will let them out for a bit. They are very good about staying in the yard.  I was concerned about Hollie so I called the vet my husband took Loopy to last year. Tracy, the receptionist, was really nice about working us in on a Saturday, and they also took Loopy in to get he...
