Mandeville has been named a Tree City USA for the thirteenth year in a row.  The National Arbor Day Foundation uses four criteria for this award.A tree care ordinanceThey must have a tree board.Arbor Day observance day event.Community forestry program with annual budget of at least two dollars per capita.Slidell actually won this title this year as well as Covington.  If you are tired of cement and house after house come over to the Northshore and have a look.  I am sure you will like it.

Yesterday, after my weekly accountability coffee meeting, we ran into an old friend. Naturally, the conversation quickly turned to the market. It started with talk of the rates dropping. In the past, it would have seemed strange to have followed talking about interest rates under 6% with him bringing up how bad the real estate market is. We turned the topic around quickly. The market is how you look at it. It is Such an Incredible time of opportunity. Interest rates are low. The supply of homes is high. The prices are reasonable. It is an awesome time for first time buyers with good credit. There are still plenty of mortgage options available. It is a great time for investors. Go-zone and other government incentives are plentiful- in addition to some great deals on homes. Anyone who has...

Some people say that Mandeville is no longer a community for young families in the beginning of their careers. Here is an example that if you look hard enough- it is still attainable. Realtors need to be willing to spend time with families, keep them in search programs. When homes that will fit the needs of those clients come on the market, they won't miss out. So many homes in the price points that young families can afford are purchased by investors for rental properties. I work with investors. There is a need for rental property as well. Realtors need to do our part by preparing our clients so that if a home in an area with great schools and recreational opportunities comes on the market, the clients have a chance to put in an offer before it is sold. Thanks,Amy Great Location. It is ...

Did not get to blog tonite since I was watching the LSU game. It was nice to beat the medias favorite team in Notre Dame. They had all the all Americans but we were the better team tonite. As long as LSU does not turn the ball over they could beat almost any one. It was the 7th win in a row in 2006 to end the year. It was Notre Dames 9th bowl loss in a row. There is a reason for that. Does anyone know why this is?                                                                           LSU Chimes on the campus in Baton Rouge
