Shreveport Real Estate Market Report for 2012 Total Sales:  For 2012, the MLS reported a total of 3975 sales which is 266 more property sales over 2011 – a 7.2% increase in the number of transactions.  Undoubtedly the primary driving force is the extremely low interest rates.  Average Sales Price:  The average sales price of properties sold in 2012 is $172,134 which is actually slightly less than 2011 reported average sale price of $174,219 – a 1.2% decrease in average sales price.  Median prices, however, were $158,000 & $157,000 in 2012 & 2011 respectively.  Current Inventory:  At the beginning of 2013, there were 2,100 homes for sale in Shreveport / Bossier  vs. 1,775 at the beginning of 2012, approximately 350 more homes available to choose from by buyers.  With the current number o...

This is a guest post by Vicki Landry, my sister and The Chris Hayes Team Manager... This weekend my husband and I took our 2 kids to the Jubilee Zoo located at 6402 Hwy 1 in Shreveport (Directions to Jubilee Zoo).  I snagged a good deal on LivingSocial so we decided to check out this local petting zoo.  What a charming place!  They have a gift shop and snack bar and during their “Christmas Jubilee” there are booths set up selling all kinds of crafty gifts.   They are also selling live Christmas trees and there are several big bouncy houses set up for little kids.  Of course, we were really only there to see and pet some animals!  There were all kinds of cute critters like goats, bunny rabbits, ducks and geese and even reindeer!  There were plenty of big animals too like ponies, zebras a...
