there is no better place to celebrate the 4th of July than Needham.  Now the weather must cooperate because we have paid our dues for the last 2 weeks of mostly rain.  We are due for terrific weather on the 3rd for Fireworks and the 4th starting with the parade at 9:05 AM I will always love the 4th here.  Why go anywhere.  It is a STAY-VACATION in Needham for the rockin' est celebration ever! Needham schools still rank high over and over among the best schools in the state of Massachusetts.  I have included a link to today's article on the Boston Globe's web site boston.com. The Needham High School is near complete and the finishing touches are being done.  There have been renovations at some of the other schools as well to make room for expansion. Not only are the public schools great but the Needham's private schools  are as well.  Olin College began it's first admissions in 2002.  Olin is an alternative to other Engineering schools.  The new buildings there are truly beautiful.  There a marvelous dining room that we can take advantage of when school is in session.  The lunches are great.  I haven't tried the dinners but the prices are moderate. The Green Needham Collaborative brings the community together with other people who are like-minded when it comes to the education and effice use of our resources.  There are many topics on the iste and they have kept the site up to date. There is a link to some great tips for conservation.  I am pleased that a group like this is available at no cost to join.  For 26 years I have been recycling before Needham had their recycle facility the town of Wellesley allowed me to bring my recycle materials there.  All these things take time but it is worth the time.  I have used biodegradable products since the l977.  I was introduced to some amazing products that were developed in 1956 and broke down in days and weeks instead of years.  This same company got the "Stevie Award," and is a Climate... 07/27/2008

We know it as the Bradley Estate.  This  property along with many acres was given to the Town of Needham for its useby the former owner many years ago. Lots of weddings have been held here.   There are presently Rangers who take care of the property and prepare it for events.  It is a another place I like to come to get away from the noise and just read or relax in the beauty of the country side.  There are walking trails and in the summer there is a day camp across the road from this building. It appears that this will be the site of the Senior Center.  The present Senior Center really needs so much work and there isn't adequate parking.  It looks like there is a green light to go forward with the project to house the Senior Center at the Bradley Estate site.  They will ask for $500,00... 12/01/2007
