Needham Home Prices and Home Values Through it all Needham keeps insulated as far as the house values.  Needham continues to draw folks to it's community.  We are sure it is the fine education that the children of Needham receive.  Recently Needham came in as 19th in the top 50 high schools according to "Boston Magazine." Vote in Massachusetts Tomorrow 9/14 AndHave Some Fun Politics are never dull in Massachusetts.  I will be up listening to the returns like many others.  It promises to be an interesting day for sure. I just heard that Bill Keating, Norfolk County Norfolk District Attorney chased down a purse snatcher.  Keating is running in Tuesday's primary election for the Democratic nomination in the state's 10th Congressional District.  He is a a nice guy and I think that was great that he did that.  I am not impressed by Joe Malone who is down right nasty.  I did not know he had that bad side. Governor Patrick has a tough race ahead of him with Charlie Baker, who was originally from Needham, MA. and Tim Cahill.  There will not be anything boring about this day. Needham's 300th Celebrate with 300 Laps Celebrate Needham's 300th year Anniversary and one of the ways is to do that is walk on Monday and Wednesday nights at 6:00 at DeFazio Park on Dedham Avenue, Needham, MA.   Walk at your own pace.  A lap is a quarter mile so you would need to do 75 miles  to complete 300 laps.  We have a year to accomplish this.  That's not too bad. There is more than one incentive.  It is fun, you could lose some weight and perhaps win a free ticket to the Needham 300th Birthday Gala Celebration on Novemver 5, 2011. Pick up a tracking sheet at the Park & Recreation office or KOKO FitClub.  Turn in the tracking sheets at the same place by September 1, 2011.  There are so many event all year round.  Keep watching for updates.   09/09/2010

Needham Market Report During the last 27 days 19 single family homes have gone under agreement and 30 properties have sold. Active single family listings have a price range from $$268,800  to $3,450,000   There is a  total of 133 single family homes on the market and 9 of those accepted offers but are accepting back up offers. It is a typical August and it is quieter than other times of the year but still there is activity. If you love cupcakes and live anywhere near Needham, Massachusetts, boy do I have a place for you! Treat Cupcake Bar, located at 1450 Highland Ave Needham,Ma, is a unique establishment where you can make your own cupcakes. You can select from at least 4 different cupcake flavors, 4 different frosting flavors, and at least 20 different toppings. My wife, son and I went to Treat Cupcake Bar this past Saturday to try out this new concept and we weren't disappointed. I ordered a chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting. For toppings I selected Heath Bar, M&M's and Sprinkles. It was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. My one caveat would be to go when you are hungry. The cupcakes were very filling and if I would have eaten beforehand, I would not have been able to finish my cupcake.   08/22/2010

Tax Free in Massachusetts The Great annual Tax Free weekend.  Now we get to have one weekend a year in Massachusetts to purchase without paying 6.25% sales tax.  So this weekend those who travel to New Hampshire can stay in  Masssachusetts. I think we should have a tax free weekend once a month.  Who votes for that?  Well anyway the highways and biways should be busy with shoppers taking advantage of that sales tax holiday.  Hey here's another idea:  One paycheck a month without taxes taken out.  Is anyone counting how many months you have to work in the year before you have paid your tax debt out of earnings if you are paid weekly?
